Bible Study

Christina replies. “I think she has her bible study group now. It’s over at the hall.”

The two of you take your car. In ten minutes you pull into a mostly empty parking lot. As you approach the door, you hear moaning.

Christina gives you a look. “I swear that sounds like sex.”

You listen at door and catch the sound of soft moans coming from maybe a half dozen girls. You turn the knob of the door. As it clicks open the moaning stops.

You and Christina walk in. You look around struck by the oddness of the scene. Danielle’s bible study group usually has a few men. None our present. Danielle is dressed in a tight, black, elegant dress and six inch black stiletto heels. She stands in the center of the room. Reclining wherever there is open flat space are five female members of Danielle’s study group. Each wears a tight black dress.

“Um, hi, Danielle?”

“Tanya, Christina, I’m so glad you came. I suppose you are wondering what happened last night?”

You nod.

She continues. “That Haunted House was absolute magic. It showed me I was worshipping the wrong god.”

“Wrong god?”

“Why yes. As it turns out, once my coven is complete, God is me. I suppose I should say Goddess. It’s a shame Evie was sick today or my little coven would be complete.”

She pulls out what looks like a shiny black seed. “I don’t suppose either of you would like to take her place?”

“Um, no.” You and Christina say at once.

“A shame. Well I’m afraid I’ll have to kill you.”

Your jaw drops. You weren’t expecting that.

Danielle waves her hands. The ground beneath them begins to smoke. Suddenly, a black furred dog seems to crawl out of the ground. It’s eyes glow an unholy red. It stares at you, growling and drooling. Where it’s feet touch the ground, the ground smokes.

“I suppose you did help me become a Goddess, so it’s only fair I give you a head start. Run!”

You and Christina turn and run.

In the distance you hear Danielle. “Ha, ha, ha!”
