"Okay, Trent." You smile warmly at him. "I'll keep your secret."

"Thanks, Joy." Trent exhaled sharply. "I owe you one."

"Don't worry about it." You shake your head. "What are friends for?"

"No, I mean it. I do owe you one." He thinks for a second, then seems to get an idea. "What are you doing tonight?" You are caught off-guard by his question and blink twice before responding.

"Tonight? Uh...nothing, I don't think."

"Great! My shift ends at 5:00. How about I take you out for dinner. My treat. As a way of saying thanks."

"You don't need to do that, Trent." You giggle, hoping you were convincing enough to seem sincere and innocent without going too far and changing his mind. Thankfully, you didn't have anything to worry about.

"No, no. I insist. I know some great resteraunts. Plus, it would be a good way to get to know each other better." He smiles and cocks his head to the side. "I know I don't open up to people very easily. You were a friend to me, so I think I should return the favor."

"Wellll....seeing how you are so adamant about it, going out for dinner sounds great." You grin to yourself. You didn't expect the payoff to come so quickly! I guess there is such a thing as karma! "Meet you here at 5:00?"

"Sure." Trent nods. He scratches the back of his head nervously "Errr...so can I help you find anything?"

"I was only checking this place out, Trent. I didn't really have intent to buy anything." You smirk.

"Sorry. It is my job, after all." He grins sheepishly.

"Tell you what. If tonight goes well, I'll let you know what in this store, I actually would consider buying." You wink at him and Trent laughs.

"Sounds good."

"WEAVER! STOP FRATERNIZING AND HELP PEOPLE!" The fat oaf behind the counter shouts.

"Ugh. Back to the grind. See you tonight." Trent smiles and turns to talk to a new customer. You heart flutters a bit as he leaves. Who knew today would turn out this way? Here you were thinking you'd have to just settle for a liason with Dan today...if everything goes well, you'll get Trent to open up tonight. And then maybe you will get to open yourself up for him. The thought makes you giddy and you suddenly can't wait until 5:00.
