Chapter 259 by D!$N3Y D!$N3Y

Who saved you? Or ruined your plan?

Batman!

You were teleported out of danger, along with your savior: the Dark Knight. You both reappeared on the Watchtower's bridge, with everyone that wasn't under the ape's fiery influence joining you. Inside, you were twerked that Bruce interrupted your attempt to break through to the girls, but maybe in hindsight, you would've thought your being determined could easily be interpreted as being reckless... The others said that Batman should've been resting, but he retorted, "There's little time to rest, knowing Grodd has stepped up significantly."

"Grodd?" you asked. "You know that talking gorilla?" Then they told you that Grodd was a scientist from a hidden city of intelligent apes, which they wouldn't disclose where it was, and continued that he went rogue.

"After tracking him to Gorilla City, Flash and I fought him and plan to wipe out the city with missiles. The kid rewired his mind-controlling helmet," Lantern added, "and we thought it short-circuiting had neutralized his brain."

"But he pulled himself together again. With newfound telepathy and mind control," J'onn finished.

"Like you..." you realized. Then a recent memory snapped you back from storytime. "Hey, wait a minute. Grodd never breathed fire before, did he?"

Batman said, "Not originally. But he may have found a way and made a deal with someone." But the question was, in your mind: who could give Grodd fire breath, increase the effectiveness of his mind control? You backtracked through the villains you've faced and fought, thinking who could augment the gorilla's abilities... Lex was easily top of your list, but you couldn't be sure if the two of them were on friendly terms, so he was a definite 'maybe'.

Then... You remembered something else... The fire had been logged in the back of your mind until you were out of danger, but now it seemed too familiar to forget: "With my help, you will have great power to use as many women as your heart craves. They will be your slaves, devoted to your every whim and desire." So Hades was right about it not being over between you two; he found someone else to act in his name. Despite it being an uneasy theory in your mind, you couldn't think of who else it could be...

"I think I know who Grodd talked to," you say sadly, trying to buck up about what he has in store for his servants... You told them about your time on Themyscira, minus the erotic extras, and said that the ruler of Tartarus wanted to enlist you as a soldier who'd be rewarded with scads of women. And that you shot his offer down completely. "Needless to say, he didn't take rejection well. So I'm guessing he found a new vessel in Grodd for his cause..."

How do the others take it?
