Baby pictures

"Nope.” Maria said, shaking her head with a wicked smile. “I think getting your baby pictures taken would be a much better idea.”

Maria chuckled as she pushed the stroller forward, causing Lauren to whimper as she turned bright red. Opening the door, Maria pushed the stroller into the store and up to the counter where a young woman – about eighteen – was working behind the counter.

“Hello, welcome to Carla’s Photos.” The woman greeted. “How may I help you?”

“Yes, we’re here for the sale.” Maria said. “This little cutie,” she added, pinching Lauren’s red cheek, “is here for her first photo shoot.”

“Okay, then.” The woman smiled. “Do you want just one photo or the full photo shoot?”

“What’s the difference?” Maria asked.

“Well, the one photo costs two hundred dollars – one hundred and twenty with the sale – and is merely just one of the four different sets that the parent chooses from our book.” The woman explained. “The full photo shoot is four hundred dollars – two hundred and forty with the sale – and you get all four photos.”

Lauren opened her mouth to say something, but a glare from Maria made her close it. Satisfied with that, Maria put a finger to her chin thinking about which option to choose. She had Lauren’s credit card with her – Vanessa had made sure to give it to Maria before she left – so money wasn’t an issue.
