BR Day 16 - Annette?

Annette? The lady who’s in charge of all this? Who does Eliza think that you think she is? She’s just the person in charge, trying to make some money.

“I don’t even know what that’s supposed to mean,” you say uncomfortably. Their suspicion is contagious. FUTA is on hold. It’s not like there would be accusations of spying for two captains to be seen together like this, so what’s the problem?

“Who do you think she is? Some soccer fan? TV exec?” Eliza asks.

You shrug. “Something like that.”

“She’s a scientist. Biotech,” Meghan supplies.

“And she was involved with what happened in Raccoon City,” Eliza adds.

“Nobody knows what happened in Raccoon City,” you reply with a shrug. Something bad, of course. Like a terrorist attack or something? You aren’t into news and politics.

“How’s someone like that end up here?” Eliza asks, unfazed.

“How should I know?” you reply, annoyed.

“You don’t need to know. You just need to know that it’s not right. She was a bigshot at the Umbrella Corporation in the bioweapons division. Now she’s here, running a TV show about T&A and drama,” Eliza says flatly. “You see the problem with that.”

“I don’t see the problem with my paycheck,” you say, but your heart isn’t in it. You just don’t understand. You are so confused. “What do you guys want?”

“We want your help,” Eliza says.

“Help with what?”

“Getting answers. We need to know exactly what Annette is up to,” Meghan cuts in. “No more questions, Riley.” She steps up in front of you, reminding you how big and strong she is. She’s not fucking around. “You know that something isn’t right here. We want your help.”

“Doing what?”

“Getting closer to Annette,” Eliza says.

“Why are you talking to me?” you say, remembering that woman in the cave. These two are weird and not being very cool about this… but they’re right. Something’s wrong. “I don’t even know her.”

“You’re her type,” Eliza and Meghan say in perfect unison.

“What?” you say, confused.

“She ordered her camera crews and producers to focus on you. And Adella.” Eliza glances at Meghan. “And Meghan. Can you guess why?”

You look up at Meghan and think, then down at her shorts. “Because we have dicks?” you ask, disbelieving.

Eliza nods. “We think that’s what Annette has a thing for. You’re a femme. You’re a great player. You’re FUTA’s star. You have it,” she adds, gesturing vaguely toward your shorts. “We think that you and Adella are her favorites. We think she has a thing for girls like you. And we think that you might be able to use that to get close to her. We’re through talking, Riley. We aren’t here to answer your questions. Are you going to help us or not?”

Jesus. This is a lot. They’re right; something’s wrong, but this is so much out of nowhere…
