BR - Magical vacation

Shauna drank two of those dark beers, but she shows no sign of a buzz. You are buzzed, and Beth is wasted. You and Shauna support her back to the house. Full of heavy, fried food and two glasses of beer, you are ready to go into a coma. It’s a bit early, but after the flights… going to bed doesn’t seem too crazy.

“Early night, eh?” Shauna asks cheerfully, hugging Beth, who’s too drunk to protest.

“I’ll help her,” you assure Shauna, who disappears into that room with the desk.

Beth feebly tries to escape, but you don’t let her. You **** her to brush her teeth and get her undressed.

She flops on her bed and lies there in her panties, facedown and unmoving.

Shaking your head, you roll her onto her side and put her under the covers, which is harder than it should be. She’s light, but she’s also dead weight when she’s like this.

She mumbles something in her sleep. You brush your teeth and kick off your shoes, then join her. You’re supposed to sleep in the guest bedroom, but you can’t have her like… puking and dying in the night or something, so you’ll have to be with her. Fully clothed, you lie down beside her. She’s under the covers and you’re on top of them. You turn off the lamp and stare at the ceiling.

“Sorry,” Beth murmurs.

“It’s fine,” you tell her tiredly. Nothing about this is fine, but being mad at Beth when she’s like this is pointless. After she sobers up, you can have a serious talk about what you’re doing here. “Your mom is boy crazy.” All night, Shauna kept circling back to Beth’s love life.

“She wants grandkids,” Beth murmurs.

You wait for her to go on, but she starts to snore. Sighing, you try to get comfortable. Well… that gives you at least a little sympathy for Beth’s situation, although it’s not as though the two of you couldn’t have kids. The technology exists and you both have working uteruses. It doesn’t have to be a big deal.

But you and Beth have only been together for a couple of weeks. It’s been such an exciting time that it feels much longer, like… almost three years. But nope, it’s less than a month. So you can see where Beth’s conflict is coming from. There’s a lot of adjusting that she’s having to do. She’s not handling it very gracefully, but it’s not like you’re known for being so graceful.

You wanted to come here to get away from the weirdness at FUTA and your concerns about all that stuff, but you aren’t sure this is better. As you lie beside Beth, you think about Rebecca, Eliza, and all of the other girls that must have chosen to leave FUTA.

What could’ve made them do that?
