Chapter 3
by alphakennyone
What is the airborne substance's properties?
BOOM!!!
Before you can act, before you can think, before you can do anything worth protecting yourself or the others in the bus, a huge explosion erupts from within the center of the building. You and the others, the bus you guys are in, and the hanger around you is engulfed in flames. There is no glimpse of hope or salvation in the very minutes you draw closer to your demise. In the thirty seconds or less you have left to live you feel the intense heat and pain searing through your skin and bones.
....
.........
....
When the flames die down and all is still lit by the rays of the sun, only a blackened aircraft hanger and what's left of the burnt carcass of the bus is left. But hope is there. An inkling of hope emerges like a Pheonix rising from the ashes. A moan. A couple moans. All men, soldier and officer alike at the scene hears it. A third moan and then a fourth. Then a shout is heard in the ruins.
"Ahhhhhh!!" signs of life are being heard within the remains.
In no time wasted, you and three others are found and airlifted to the emergency room. All kinds of degree burns dot the outline of your body. There is no second chance for this body. Even when hope is lost in the physical, a single doctor emerges, standing out from all who say it can't be done.
He says, "We might not be able to save the body, but we can save the mind."
"Are you out of your mind? You are but a surgeon," a skeptical doctor cries out.
"You may say that I'm just a surgeon but I believe I can bring new life. Life not in these bodies but in bodies that are more fortunate," the doctor replies.
What did the doctor mean by that?
