Ask if you can think about it

You’ve read enough stories not to just blurt out the first thing that comes to mind. Genies, if that’s what this is, can be tricky and you have no intention of becoming a cautionary tale. Besides, you're at least half convinced this is all just a touch of heat stroke.

“Um can I think about it?” you ask

“I understand your caution my friend, please take your time” the creature somehow manages to shrug despite not having shoulders “Why don’t you take me with you and we can talk about it? I’m sure you have many questions.”
