Its not a lot of money, but it doesn't require any prior training. Besides, waitresses get good tips right? I think to myself.

Picking up the phone, I dial the number, "Nick's Diner, Nick speaking." Comes a gruff voice from the other end of the line.

"Yeah, I'm calling about the waitress job?" I inquire.

"Interviewed three girls last night, and got two more showing up for interviews this afternoon. If you want a crack at the job, be here inside of an hour and I can interview you." Not bothering for a reply, he adds, "See you then." before hanging up the phone.

It takes me a few minutes to look up the address for Nick's Diner, and its immediately obvious that there's little to no chance I can make it on time, but if I hurry, I might only be a few minutes late.
