And reconnection

Aurora brought him down to sitting on the couch, and sat herself in his lap. She now wore a new hydration suit, one that was a foggy white color aside from on her spots. Nebula stood and walked around to the chair, glowing green enough it almost hurt to look at him.

"Finally...you know, this morning they actually had me scared for a bit that I was going to fail."

Aurora shook her head. "When do you ever?"

"Right? But that's why it was so terrifying! I didn't think he'd get the elders involved so quickly." Aurora pressed her forehead to James's own, her entire body shimmering a brilliant gold. Nebula faked a groan. "Aww, get a room."

Aurora flickered lavender for a moment. A little bit of the color stuck on her belly, and she glanced at her brother. "Hey...speaking of-"

He stopped her with a raised hand, a light green flicker across his body. "Stop. Right there. Just...let me get some coffee...", he stood with a face like a child watching their parents be romantic. He didn't even bother reheating the old coffee in the pot before drinking most of four cups and heading into his room.

James glanced at him and back to Aurora. "What was that about?"

She bit her lip, looking at him. "I'm here...and I think I want to make it to stay..."

"Well that's what the whole debate is all about, right?"

She shook her head and leaned in close, waves of deep purple working across her features. "James...make me a mother.", she whispered in a breathy voice.
