What's next?
An invitation to dinner
Dear Sir Williard,
I have just returned from a most troubling dinner hosted by Lady X and her family, it was not actually the dinner which I found disturbing, but a bit of news that I learned while there. The dinner-party itself was marvelous, in fact the whole affair started out with a series of fortuitous events. I shall recount them - to the best of my ability - in the order they occurred, before I return to the unsettling bit of information that has me so troubled.
Perhaps you will recall my lord, in an earlier installment of this serial letter I mentioned that Andrews and myself were having little success tuning the steam engine that powers the Anna-Leigh. We had no trouble lighting the fire under the boiler and building pressure, but the series of valves feeding the pressurized steam into the four reciprocating cylinders were not working properly despite being dissembled and reassembled a couple times. However, after struggling with the valves late into the night one evening I was pleased to find that the next afternoon when I bolted the finicky parts into place they worked perfectly. It would be more accurate Sir Williard to report that I was both surprised and delighted at how well the valves worked, for in all honesty I recalled thinking that I had fouled the pieces even worse than my previous attempts. I took the Anna-Leigh into town to celebrate the miracle of the perfectly functioning timing valves.
It was while I was steaming along the waterfront of New Thames that the second of these fortuitous events took place; I spotted the buxom Miss Alice X waving to me from a pier. I was able to maneuver the Anna-Leigh with only minimal trouble to the pier where the docking lines were caught by obliging pedestrians and soon enough I was safely moored. I had just enough time to vent the extra steam and bank the fire in the firebox before Miss Alice, Miss Felicia and yet another of Alice's friends, Miss Rosalie, a mischievous red-head with sparkling eyes and deep dimples, all clambered aboard the motor craft and demanded a tour of the boat. The three young women wore walking dresses in the style of Rajah-4 that exposed much of their swollen bosoms, the slender calves and ankles below their knees and far too much of the smooth pale skin of their backs. All three were very impressed by how neat and orderly everything was laid out onboard the watercraft and before I could find a reason to turn down the lovely young maidens I had been talked into the steaming them back up the river to Alice's home so they did not have to wait for Lord X to finish his business in town.
The Anna-Leigh performed the task beautifully, making the same journey that had taken me more than two hours in the light punt in no more than thirty very pleasant minutes. I pointed out my humble cottage as we cruised past and all three of the young ladies were very complimentary about how well I had restored the villa to its former condition. I have to report Sir Williard, in the interest of scientific integrity, that as I passed my boathouse I had a sudden vision of all these three beauties chained to the inner walls of the stone structure while I sliced away their immodest walking dresses and lacy undergarments exposing more and more of their perfect flesh to my lustful eyes. Of course I immediately banished the image from my mind, but I am distressed to find that these urges have not left me despite my best efforts to control them.
My effort to maintain self control was made so much harder (as was my manhood) by the habit shared by all three of these young Englishwomen to stand at my side as I steered the powerboat up the river and press their bodies against mine as the boat swayed in the current. I can only believe that this trio were naively unaware of just how greatly the feeling of their soft young bodies rubbing against mine effected me, for if they did understand how their feminine wiles could drive a man to the edge of sanity then they were playing with fire. I was able to be the gentleman mostly because of the numbers involved. Had I been alone with any one of the these three charming young women I most assuredly would have dropped anchor in one of the many secluded bays and turned my attention to teaching the lovely young tease just how a improperly a man might behave when given the proper incentives by a lovely maiden.
Let me assure you however, Sir Williard, that I completed the journey without embarrassing myself in any way and once again was able to bring my boat smartly alongside the sturdy quay that lay at the foot of the great estate I remembered from my earlier trip up the river. The trio hopped nimbly off the Anna-Leigh and tied off the lines as I once again vented steam. By the time I had finished the simple tasks I saw Lady X and two Hindi servants making their way down the trail that led to the river. The young ladies quickly straightened their dresses until they were almost acceptably modest and taking my hands in theirs they led me up the hill to meet with the fine matron.
"Mother, Dr. Baxter saved us from the dreariness of the town with a lovely boat ride!" Miss Alice explained before Lady X could even ask what was going on. "You simply must convince him to come to dinner tomorrow. How else could we ever thank him?" I could think of a few things the three lovely young women could do to express their gratitude, but I smiled politely Sir Williard and accepted the family's invitation. Worried as you might well imagine how I could procure attire suitable for dining in the company of Lord and Lady X's crowd.
The last of the sequence of fortuitous events was the discovery of my trunks that had finally been delivered from Kandar. Along with my microscope, micro-suture and library the rest of my wardrobe was waiting for me when I returned to my humble cottage. Now at least I had proper clothing to wear for the dinner party.
I find myself in a delicate position, your lordship. The need for sexual release is overpowering, I think I will go wake Hilda and satisfy my lust upon her always accommodating young body. I will then finish this letter when my mind is once again clear enough to think properly, for I believe I have learned the secret of the River Pirates of Rajah-4. This information has profound implications and I must be careful with the way I present my findings, and with the wild thoughts that keep racing unbidden through my mind I fear I will not be able to present the details with the attention they deserve.
What is this latest discovery?
