Amy outswims you easily

You burst through the water, frantic strokes propelling you forwards with as much speed as you can muster. But when the shock of the cold water wears off, you lift your head and see the lead that Amy’s built on you. Shit… you need to seriously speed up if you’re ever going to catch up to her.

But try as you might, you’re not closing the distance on her at all. She flip-turns at the far end of the pool, putting on a burst of speed as she swims back towards you, and you realise with horror that she’s actually gaining on you. You reach the far end of the pool a couple seconds later, executing an awkward turn, and push off the wall with all your strength. For a second, you glide through the water so quickly that you think you might have a chance, if only you could push yourself to go faster…

But then Amy reaches the end of the pool and throws her arms in the air triumphantly. You, barely halfway through the lap, groan internally and take a much needed gasp of air. It’s a humiliating swim as you slowly finish out the lap.

“Uh-oh, looks like somebody’s gonna have to tell the world how great I am,” Amy smiles, as you haul yourself up onto the pool deck.

“Damn, who would have thought that you’d be so fast?” you say, shaking your head ruefully.

“I warned you,” she laughs, placing a hand on her hip.

There’s something erotic about the way the water glistens on her swimsuit, shiny beads dripping off her body. Her hair now shines black and slick and smooth. If only you’d been faster, maybe she would be giving you a handjob now…

“I should have taken the hint,” you say with a grumpy sigh. “Now I’ve got to pay the price…”

“Shout it loud and clear,” she says. “I want everyone to hear!”

“But…” you stumble on your words as you realise a proclamation like that will surely draw Gina’s attention.

“Don’t tell me you’re backing out now,” Amy says.

“No, no, just preparing myself,” you say, taking a deep breath for show.

Then, in the loudest voice you can muster, out comes the scream: “AMY MCINTYRE IS THE BEST, HOTTEST GIRL IN THE WORLD!”

“Whooo! That’s my boy,” Amy laughs, cheering you on as people from all around the pool give you hard stares.

“There, now the whole world knows,” you say. “You can expect to be wooed by millions of eligible bachelors, since I’ve told them all about you.”

“I’m going to need a manager to deal with all of them,” she says. “What do you say, are you looking for a job with the hottest girl in the world?”

“Who could turn down something like that—” you begin saying, when you suddenly see a shadow loom over you.

You freeze, for who could do anything but, when she’s so beautiful, when her stare is so cold?

“Watch yourself,” Gina says, her voice so husky and low that it sends a shiver down your spine.

Then, she’s gone, leaving you and Amy blinking at each other.

“Who… who was that?” she asks, all trace of humour drained from her face.

“My older sister,” you mutter.

Something about her interruption ruined the moment between the two of you, and a couple minutes later, you and Amy head separate ways, going to get dinner.
