Amy's Ring
At Riverside, Berlin and Amy were on the streets looking for a pawn shop. The redhead was planning on selling her engagement ring since she didn't want to wear it anymore, so she convinced the brunette to help her out.
"So, you really wanna give up that ring?" Berlin asked.
"Yeah, Michael's been after my family's money since I joined the Crescent Moons. I've been dying to sell this ring so that I can call off that stupid wedding of his." Amy replied.
"Hey, check it out! There's a pawn shop over there!" Berlin exclaimed as she pointed to a nearby pawn shop. The two girls then entered the store, where a man behind the counter asked, "Welcome, ladies. How may I help you?"
"Well, we're selling this pricey-as-hell engagement ring that one of my friends doesn't want anymore. How about...750,000?" Berlin asked.
"Huh? 750 grand? To be honest, I don't have that kind of money. But if you wanna sell something like that for big bucks, try one of those high-end pawn stores in Harlem." the man replied, although slightly disappointed.
"Um...yeah, sure. Thanks." Berlin told him before the two girls exited the store.
"Harlem? But that's territory belonging to the Boppers and the Hurricanes!" Amy exclaimed, apparently miffed.
"Oh, don't worry about it. Maybe we can convince Slattery and Mama Delores to sell the ring." Berlin reassured with a smile.
"Okay, I guess." Amy said as she nodded her approval, before putting the ring in one of the pockets in her jacket.
Amy and Berlin were en route to the subway to return to Sea Gate, when the brunette took notice of a woman in what appeared to be a baseball jersey. However, she also sported face paint, so the two girls assumed she was a member of the Baseball Furies.
Yet looks were clearly deceiving: she was none other than Jully, leader of the Baseball Vixens, close friends as well as distaff counterparts of the Baseball Furies. By day, she was a reserved, quiet librarian; but by night, she and her posse hunted unsuspecting victims, attacking them before stealing their money.
At that very moment, Jully and a few other Vixens were almost finished beating up a man in a suit, planning to strip him of his clothes so that they could find money in his pockets. However, they appeared to take notice of Berlin and Amy, both witnessing the scene before them.
Jully looked at the other Vixens before twirling her baseball bat like a baton and then grabbing hold of it as she glared at the two Crescent Moons.
"Oh shit...I think we better split before they get us!" Berlin told Amy.
The two girls then made a beeline for the subway, as Jully and the other Vixens chased right after them. During the run, Amy bumped into a man, who gently told her to watch where she was going.
As she stood up, she gasped as she saw Jully and the Vixens still on her tail. Amy then started running in order to catch up with Berlin, and the two girls eventually reached the subway, and at the nick of time.
Berlin and Amy then boarded the subway, and as the doors closed, Jully silently scowled as she signaled the other Vixens to leave and return to Riverside. While on the subway, the two girls were obviously bewildered and almost out of breath.
"Who the hell were those girls? They look like they're female Furies!" Amy asked.
"I don't think so, Amy. I highly assume that they're a different gang, but they're also on good terms with the Furies." Berlin told her. "I think they're known as the Vixens." she added.
"The Baseball Vixens?! Angela told me about their leader, claiming that she was the same woman who worked in that library in Riverside." Amy replied.
"That's quite true. But she sure as hell looks quite different with that face paint, right?" Berlin said with a grin as she laid back on the seats and sighed with relief over the fact that they didn't get caught by the Vixens as the subway made its way to Sea Gate.
A few days later...
