Amelia’s 6th letter

This is one of the letters which was brought to me by the same caravan which picked me up to travel to Riledo. It’s from Amelia. I haven’t opened it yet. With all the preparations to leave, I simply didn’t have the time to read it. Let’s see what she had to say.

Hello, Darx.

It has been almost six months now since we’ve last seen each other. I guess that means your training is almost over and you’ll be having your ranking ceremony. At least, my parents last wrote me that you will be coming soon.

I really wish you had sent me more letters. Even though I’ve made a lot of friends here, I still can’t help but feel lonely.

My guild’s recruiter has given me permission to join him, so I will be there when you get your rank. That way I can tell him when it’s your turn and give you a chance to join. I would be so happy if we could be in the same guild. Look for me in the crowd.

I miss you. Amelia.

So, Amelia is going to be there, huh.

I lean back and rest my head against the wagon. Should I be nervous? Should I care? We have trained together for so long. I still fondly recall those happy times. Those memories where Amelia was still the innocent girl I always thought her to be. They make me want her to be there. Have her see how far I’ve come.

But ‘that’ Amelia will not be present there. She is a different Amelia now. She has changed. I don’t know the specifics, but I don’t need to. I can guess it well enough.
