Amanda is still in denial

Despite the mounting evidence Amanda can't quite bring herself to believe she is the one responsible for all the magical strangeness going on today. Surely if she had gained powers in the Changing she would known about it by now?

Even as the dinning hall erupts into chaos she stubbornly refuses to accept it is her doing. Instead she gets up and walks out with the ecstatic cries of her classmates ringing in her ears.

With an effort of will she convinces herself that there will be a reasonable explanation for what's happening and heads back to class.
