The white void shifted and formed color and depth around him and the program-woman. A wall and door appeared behind her, the feelings of a soft-carpet appearing under Timothy's toes. The word "EXIT" -- in bright neon green -- appeared above the woman's head.

"Hello, Timothy. Welcome to Daycare World!"

A text-crawl appeared in front of the woman as she spoke, repeating a typed out version of her speech as though she was an NPC in a video game.

"Daycare World is a magical place where you can relive the magic of childhood for as long as you want. If you ever have any questions, just ask any of the daycare staff we have available. If you would like to leave the simulation, just come back to me and I can escort you out."

Timothy turned around and realized that he wasn't the only other person in the room. He was in the daycare that he saw in the window, though he was kind of startled by how much bigger the place looked now that he was in it.

It was like a fully-stocked daycare center you could find in the real world, but considering all of the "kids" were actually adults or adult sized, everything has been scaled up for size. In almost every corner of the room there was an NPC woman similar to the one who brought him here, but with minor differences to their appearance.

There was a woman in a green dress and brown hair who was standing idly by the changing station, waiting patiently for a "player character" to come for her services. There were two blond-haired women in what looked like Nurse Joy uniforms standing with the "Q&A" floating above them in bright yellow letters. There was even a girl in what looked like a bellhop uniform standing in a booth with the word "Shop" floating above her.

It seemed that if this simulation was deliberately designed to be like a video game, this daycare was meant to be like a "town" where the players can shop and socialize and not have to worry about the stresses of the open world.
