Too much
All at once
Archie and Sally came back in minutes later. Holding hands. Terri had already gone home. She had said she and Lee needed to talk. Archie and Sally only stayed long enough to confirm that they would, in fact, be dating.
James found it as a mix of emotions. He hadn't lied about it to them, either. He was openly happy for them...and equally open about how it hurt in a way, and how he'd need time not to be jealous. Archie had thanked him for being honest about his emotions. Eventually, his new guest awoke and came out. By then, James had finished cleaning up. Maybe they could do something to pass the time?
James had flickered his coat white and gestured to the games he had. His guest smiled, holding his palms down. He waited a moment before sitting down and finding things to sketch with. An artistic one...huh.
"I'm gonna need something to call you..."
His guest glanced at him and flickered white, making chittering sounds. James chuckled at what he would have to do. He put his palm on his own chest. "James."
His guest tilted his head, flickering blue. James turned his coat blue and repeated the gesture. "Jaaaames."
"...Jshaaaymmsh..."
Now, James gestured at his guest and flickered his coat white again. His response was to blink before letting out what James could hardly recognize as, "Chritistlkrk-ra."
"...Okay I heard something like a...Chris...in there. Chris?", he asked while flashing blue.
His guest made an odd grunt and shimmered a neutral blue color. Seemed like...begrudging agreement? James pursed his lips. "Chistilkrkra?"
Chris gave an audible laugh and looked at him with an entertained smile. When James tried again he sighed and scooted himself closer. After close to a minute an array of symbols we're drawn out on his paper. He pointed at each one and started making different sounds. He didn't move to the next until James had said something close enough for him to turn blue and give an approving chirp.
