Alien Abduction

Lauren sunk deeper into her warm bubble bath, sighing contentedly. In a few minutes, the water did its job and Lauren fell into a deep sleep; completely unaware of her surroundings.

Melissa Hawke was Lauren’s twenty-seven-year old, next-door neighbor. Lauren had often considered her a nut job because of her love of the supernatural, cryptozoological, or otherworldly. As a firm believer, Melissa constantly frequented chat rooms about these subjects; even starting a few herself.

Suddenly, Melissa’s computer, phone, and lights started to go haywire as a dark shadow slowly grew over their neighborhood. Curious, Melissa looked out her window…and nearly fainted at what she saw.

Lauren was gently snoring, completely unaware of the looming shadow outside. Suddenly, a bright light beamed into Lauren’s open window. In a few seconds, Lauren was lifted slowly upwards until she was out of the water before floating slowly out the window. Despite all of this, however, Lauren still remained asleep.

Melissa stood at her window; slack jawed at the sight of the UFO abducting what appeared to be a small child. Quickly coming to her senses, Melissa grabbed her keys and wallet before racing towards her door.

She had to tell Lauren that the kid she was babysitting was in grave danger!

By the time Melissa had arrived outside already, the UFO had just finished abducting Lauren. In a blur of motion and a loud boom, the UFO had vanished completely.
