Chapter 27

What happens next?
After Match Interrogation
You ran all the way back to the castle… and she was still chasing you.
You hurried towards the Great Hall and reached the staircase that led down to the dungeons… and she was still running after you.
You bounded down the stairs to the dungeon… and you could still hear her footfalls as she rushed down behind you.
You raced along the dungeon corridor and were **** to stop so that you could hiss at the wall.
§Open§
The Slytherin Common Room opened and you bolted inside… and then looked back in shock as Daphne Greengrass slipped in just as the door was sealing itself again.
The common room was empty since everyone was still making their way back from the Quidditch pitch. You were panting from your run. You were actually a little thankful for Flint’s brutal Quidditch practices, spending two hours serving as ‘target practice’ once a week had improved your stamina.
Daphne didn’t have your conditioning, but she somehow managed to keep up with you as you ran from the Quidditch pitch all the way back to the common room. She was doubled over and wheezing while she clutched at a stitch in her side. But somehow the utterly relentless pureblood heiress chased you all the way back.
“Damn it, Greengrass!” you exclaimed once you had caught your breath. “Don’t you realise that I’m trying to save your life? Someone just tried to **** a thirteen-year-old in front of hundreds of witnesses! Does that really sound like someone who you want to bother and investigate?”
“So you do know who it was!” the girl crowed triumphantly. Her exhaustion instantly forgotten.
“Get it through your thick skull… I’m not telling you!” you argued.
“Was it Snape?” she asked. “He seems to hate Harry Potter the most.”
“The whole school knows that he hates Potter,” you countered. “Why would he be so stupid as to attack him in public view? Everyone would immediately suspect him!”
“Then was it Quirrell?” the relentless girl hounded you. “He’s the one you’re scared of…”
“I told you last week that I’m not talking about him!” you insisted.
“It was him! Wasn’t it? That’s why you don’t want to tell me!”
“I’m not… saying… anything…” you ground out. This girl was so stubborn!
“...” Greengrass stared silently at you for a moment and then she grinned. “Oh. Alright. I get it. You’re dragging your feet because you want something in exchange.”
“No, I’m no--”
“That’s what you said at Halloween,” she interrupted you. “You said your information was going to come at a price. Well, what do you want? Money?”
“I don’t want any--”
She interrupted again, “No, I suppose there’s not much use for it here. What else are you interested in?”
“...” You didn’t bother speaking because you realised at this point that Daphne wasn’t listening to you and was having a one-sided conversation with herself. If you tried to respond, she’d just interrupt you again.
“Oh!” Daphne gasped in realisation, then smirked at you. “I know what you want. I saw the way you stared at Tracey when you saw her knickers.”
You felt your cheeks heat up at the accusation and the memory, “I wasn’t—”
Almost predictably, you were interrupted again. “Alright, fine. Tell me what I want to know… and I’ll let you see my knickers.”
You blinked in surprise at her offer and couldn’t help blurting out, “You’re actually offering to show them to me?” You blinked again when you realised she finally allowed you to complete a sentence.
“If that’s what it takes… then that’s what I’ll do,” she resolved. “We’ll do it in your room this time.” Before you could protest and tell her that you hadn’t agreed, she crossed the room, grabbed your wrist, then dragged you to the boys’ hallway and your door.
Daphne used her hold on your wrist to place your hand on your doorknob, then wrapped both of her hands around yours, and twisted. Your door opened. Apparently, over the course of her first two months at Hogwarts, Daphne found a way around the enchantment that prevented students from opening dormitory doors that weren’t their own.
You were dragged inside, and she shut the door behind you, then stood in front of it to block any attempt at escape.
“Here’s how we’re going to do this,” Daphne announced after a moment of thought, “Look up.”
“What?”
Daphne grabbed your chin, then tilted your head up, so you were staring straight into her icy blue eyes. “Keep your eyes up.” She ducked down and you heard the rustling of fabric as she did a quick shimmy. A few seconds later, she popped back up and waved her pleated gray Hogwarts skirt in front of you. “There. My skirt’s off.” You went to look down, but Daphne closed the distance between you and pressed her body against yours, effectively blocking your view. “Nope, not yet. First, you have to tell me who was trying to kill Harry Potter at the Quidditch match and then I’ll step back and let you look.”
This girl definitely belonged in Slytherin. She knew what she wanted and she used her cunning to manipulate your weakness in order to get it. You hadn’t planned on telling her anything and you hadn’t even agreed to her deal. But her skirt was already off. You didn’t want to think of what would happen to your reputation with your fellow Slytherins if they learned that you were chased out of your own room by a girl taking her clothes off.
“I’ll only agree if you swear that you won’t tell anyone what you learn in this room,” you said. “Someone tried to **** a thirteen-year-old and I don’t want it getting back to them that I snitched. The fewer people who know the better. This stays between us. That means you can’t even tell Tracey.”
“...” Daphne hesitated. And with her standing pressed up against you, you were able to see the deception in her eyes. “Fine.”
She lied to you. She still fully intended to tell her friend everything.
“I don’t believe you,” you announced. “This could be a matter of life and ****, Greengrass. You have to take your vow seriously.” You decided to pull out your trump card in order to ensure absolute secrecy. You felt a pulse of magic behind your eyes as you stared into Daphne’s icy blue ones. “You won’t tell anyone what you learn in my room today.”
Daphne blinked then nodded. “Fine. I promise, alright? Don’t be so touchy. I won’t tell anyone. Believe it or not, I don’t have a **** wish either.”
“Good,” you said. You felt a hundred times better now that you knew Daphne wouldn’t tell anyone. “Then I can tell you. Yes, it was Quirrell. He was staring up at Potter and muttering under his breath. And he wasn’t blinking. That’s all the signs of a Jinx.”
“How do you know it was him and not someone else?” Daphne asked.
You decided to try and regain some more control over the situation. “Ah-ah, you said I had to tell you who was trying to kill Harry Potter at the Quidditch match. I did that. I told you what I saw. Whether or not you believe what I told you isn’t my problem. If you want me to answer other questions about the incident then you need to live up to your side of the bargain first.”
Icy blue eye glared back at you. “You’re trying to make this as difficult as possible, aren’t you?”
You shrugged and didn’t back down, “Don’t blame me because I’m holding you to the letter of the agreement that you came up with and basically **** upon me.” You took a half a step back, but instead of immediately looking down, you grabbed your Omnioculars and held them up. “Right now all you have is my word. I’ve got proof that it was Quirrell on here.”
Daphne’s eyes widened in shock, “You managed to record it?”
“I recorded Quirrell’s jinx and the person who broke it,” you added. “I’ll let you see it for yourself. But only as part of our new deal once our current one is completed.”
You knew you had her with that last bit. She used your newfound interest in girls and their undergarments against you. And now you were returning the favor by exploiting her well-documented love of mysteries. What mystery lover wouldn’t want concise evidence that they could use to solve the mental dilemma they were facing?
“Fine!” Daphne conceded. “You just have to keep being the most frustrating person in Hogwarts. Hurry up and look.” She stepped fully away from you and you were finally able to look down.
It was a wonderful sight. Daphne’s knickers were mint green. The white blouse from the top of her uniform hung down in the middle and covered a bit but you were able to see the lacy fringe of the waistband on the sides. The black outer robes from her uniform hung down behind her and concealed any chance you had at seeing the view from behind. So you had to content yourself with a frontal view which consisted of a snug triangle of mint green material that thinned out to about a little more than two inches on the sides.
“So…” Daphne prompted. Her cheeks were flushed, but any embarrassment she was feeling she seemed to find worth it to accomplish her goal. “What’s this new deal of yours?”
“Well, I don’t have a view of the back like this,” you pointed out. “I want you to take your outer robes off. In exchange, you can watch the scene on my Omnioculars. That way you get your view and I get mine. Sound fair?”
“That’s… reasonable,” Daphne agreed after a moment’s thought.
“But that’s not all,” you added. “Because you’ll no doubt have questions about what you’re watching. I’ll answer them, as long as they pertain to the subject your watching and the people featured in it. And… as long as you’re in your knickers while you’re asking.”
“I’m already in my knickers,” Greengrass reasoned. “I suppose there’s no harm in prolonging my exposure at this point.”
“And one final condition,” you said as you glanced down at Daphne’s mint green knickers again. “This one is the most important and can make or break the deal. When we’re done... you’re going to give me your knickers.”
“Give you my…” Daphne repeated. “What do you want my knickers for?”
You shrugged, “A memento. Consider it payment for my services. Do we have a deal or not?” You casually waved your Omnioculars at her to spur her along.
Daphne bit her lip and seemed to be thinking it over. She clearly didn’t want to give you her knickers, but you didn’t really want to tell her about Quirrell, so it only seemed fair that you were both uncomfortable, and you both got something you wanted out of the exchange.
“I’ll give you my knickers,” Greengrass eventually announced. “But I’m not going to show you anything down there. When we’re done, I’m going to put my skirt back on and take them off from underneath it.”
“Very well,” you agreed with a nod then extended your hand. “We have a deal.”
Daphne reached out and took your hand in hers then shook it to seal your deal.
You made to hand her your Omnioculars but held back, “Robes first, I think.”
The dark-haired girl sighed and shrugged her shoulders so she could slip her black outer robe down and off her arms, then tossed it aside onto her discarded skirt. This left Daphne in her white blouse, gray jumper, her green and silver tie, her silky, mint green knickers with lacy trim, her shoes, and her black knee-high socks.
You grinned and handed over your Omnioculars. “The scene is already queued up. Press the button on the side to watch it.”
Daphne raised the Omnioculars to her eyes and pressed the button. But her act of raising her arms caused the top half of her uniform to hike up a bit and expose a sliver of pale skin above the sides of the lacy fringe of her knickers.
Knowing that Daphne would be occupied viewing the scene on your Omnioculars for the next minute, you knelt down and leaned in for a closer view. Daphne was the first girl you were getting an extended look at so you wanted to get a good look. The bottom of her blouse still concealed the front of her lacy waistband but the rest of the mint green material was exposed. Even though her knickers were snug, you weren’t able to see the definition of her ‘parts’.
“What!? Did Granger just set Snape on fire!?” Daphne exclaimed.
You had about thirty seconds left, so you quickly stood up and went around behind her. Daphne’s bum was nicely rounded with a bit of each cheek showing through the leg holes at the bottom. Like with the front, the bottom of her blouse hung down to cover the very back of the lacy waistband. But on this side, you were at least able to make out the crack of her ass but idly noted that her bum didn’t seem to stick out as much as Tracey’s had. But then again, the blonde half-blood had been bent over rummaging through her trunk when you entered the room.
Daphne lowered the Omnioculars and turned to face you. “How do you know it was Quirrell? Yes, he was staring up at Potter and muttering, but so was Snape. And he was the one that Granger set on fire to stop the Jinx.”
“If that’s what you think, then you weren’t watching close enough,” you informed her. “Look again. Granger knocks over Quirrell on her way to Professor Snape. That’s what causes Potter’s broom to stop jerking. Potter’s a little slow, so it took him thirty seconds to realise that his broomstick was no longer trying to kill him. During that time, Granger unnecessarily set an innocent Professor Snape on fire.”
“Are you absolutely sure that it wasn’t Snape?” Greengrass asked again. “Everyone knows that he despises Harry Potter. He’s the obvious choice. And Quirrell seems harmless.”
“Look at their eyes,” you advised. “Back in September, Quirrell taught me a more powerful version of the Stinging Jinx -- a Stinging Hex. He only taught me because he heard me saying that Draco and I were going to be dueling Harry Potter and Ron Weasley that night. Quirrell told me himself during our private lesson that the most powerful magic comes from intent. The charged Stinging Hex works by channeling your irritation into it. When I cast it, it punched a hole through a desk. I know now that the reason he taught me that spell was because he was hoping that I would use it on Harry Potter. Don’t focus on Quirrell’s lips while he’s mumbling his Jinx. Look at his eyes. Eye contact is the key to a Jinx and you can plainly see the intent in his eyes is to hurl Harry Potter off his broom to his ****.”
Daphne raised the Omnioculars and watched the scene again. You spent that minute walking in a casual circle around the girl, drinking in the sight of her in her knickers from every angle.
“Quirrell really did it…” Daphne whispered when she finally lowered the Omnioculars. “But that means Professor Snape was innocent… AND THAT HERMIONE GRANGER SET AN INNOCENT MAN ON FIRE!”
“I was just as shocked as you are,” you admitted. “But you’re the one who did the research for Professor Snape’s secret message to Harry Potter. He bitterly regrets the **** of Lily Potter. Even though he seems to hate Harry Potter, there’s a big gap between that and wanting him dead. I think Professor Snape was casting a counter-curse. He was trying to save him.”
“Wait… so was the troll at Halloween another attempt at Potter’s life?” Daphne asked.
“No,” you answered. “Quirrell had no way of knowing where Potter would be. That incident was yet another instance of Professor Snape working against him. You were no doubt listening outside with the others last week when Professor Snape told me that he got injured defending the Forbidden Corridor. He never said what - or who - he was defending it from.”
“I figured he was defending it from the troll,” Daphne said.
“That’s what he wanted everyone to assume,” you explained. “The troll was merely a distraction. Quirrell let it loose then ran screaming into other Great Hall so he could cause as much chaos as possible. You and I both saw him slipping off in the resulting confusion. Whatever he’s after is in the Forbidden Corridor. Professor Snape tried to head him off… and now he’s injured.”
“Wow,” Daphne remarked, “It would’ve taken most first years all year to figure that out. You’re really smart, Marvolo.” You could see genuine admiration in her not-quite-so-icy blue eyes.
You gave a shrug, “I’ve had a couple months to mull certain things over. You were just railroaded by all of it at once. I’ve also been fortunate - or maybe unfortunate - enough to be looking in the right direction at the right time to gather the evidence. Professor Quirrell seems to have an interest in me. I’ve had entire conversations with him where he hasn’t stuttered once. That’s why I had to swear you to secrecy. If he finds out there’s a leak… I’ll be his first suspect.”
“If Quirrell’s after something in the Forbidden Corridor… what do you suppose it is?” Daphne inquired.
“That is where I’m afraid I’ll have to disappoint you,” you replied. “Because I don’t know. It could be anything. Maybe Quirrell wants the dangerous creature? There’s a huge market for rare animals. Maybe the dangerous creature is guarding some sort of treasure? I haven’t seen Professor Snape’s injury. Maybe he lied to keep us away from the Forbidden Corridor and there is no creature in there? Maybe his injury came from Quirrell cursing him? But all those are just random theories for now. I have no evidence to support any of them. And to be honest, I have no wish to explore the Forbidden Corridor if I could die while doing it. I’ve got a family legacy to revive, after all.”
Daphne seemed to have been enraptured by your discussion, so when she looked down and saw her bare legs and exposed knickers, she finally seemed to remember your deal.
“Well, you’ve given me more than enough information,” Daphne resolved before she reached down and idly tugged at the lacy waistband of her silky knickers. “I suppose you’ve earned these.” She went over to her discarded clothes but then hesitated and glanced over her shoulder at you. You saw her smirk before she bent over to pick up her things.
And like the curtain rising at the start of a theatre production, the back of Daphne’s blouse rose up and fully revealed her knicker-clad bum in all its glory and even a small portion of her lower back above it. You stared at Daphne’s rear as she bent over and realised it did, in fact, stick out like Tracey’s did. It was round and tight and seemed to compliment her slim frame. You weren’t exactly sure what a bubble butt was… but at that moment, Daphne’s cute bum seemed to fit that description.
Daphne stood back up and you saw her look back and wink at you before she stepped into her skirt and hiked it back up her legs. She scooped up her outer robes next and slipped them back on then reached under her skirt to grab her knickers. The black robes hung down like a curtain and prevented you from seeing under her skirt but you did spot the small bundle of mint green material as she slid her knickers down her legs and stepped out of them.
Greengrass picked up her knickers and bunched them up in her hand then bought them over to you and held them out. “Here you go.” They were warm and soft. Silk with a lacy trim. “If you do manage to find out what’s in the Forbidden Corridor… maybe we can do this again?”
Your conversation immediately cut off as the door to your room opened behind you.
“What’s going on in here?” Gemma Farley asked as she stood in the doorway.
“How’d you get in my room?” you asked. You hid your green-filled hand behind your back while Daphne jumped away from you.
“I’m a prefect,” she replied. “I have the authority to enter the room of any student younger than me. It’s to help me perform my duties… such as investigating why one Slytherin first year chased another all the way back to the castle from the Quidditch pitch. You two are lucky that everyone was so caught up discussing the end of the match. You could’ve caused a scene!”
“Er… that’s why I ran back to the common room,” you answered. “Daphne and I were having a disagreement over some information she wanted. I ran back here so we could hash things out in private and avoid causing a scene.”
Prefect Farley stared at you then looked over at Daphne. “And has everything been sorted out? Or do you require a third party mediator?”
“Everything’s fine now,” Daphne confirmed.
“Good,” Gemma said. “Then get out of here, Greengrass. Being caught alone in a room with a boy can earn you a reputation.”
Daphne nodded and quickly left your room. Gemma waited until the door closed behind her before she addressed you. “And what have you got behind your back?”
You felt your face flush as you pulled your hand out from behind back then open your hand and allowed the mint green triangle of silky fabric dangle down from between to fingers.
“Are those…”
“Her knickers,” you finished for her. “She wanted information… we negotiated… and this was the payment we agreed upon.”
Gemma raised an eyebrow, “I didn’t realise you were into that sort of thing. You’re a little young to be interested in girls’ knickers.”
“I had an eye-opening experience back in September,” you replied with a small smile.
But your smile vanished when you found her wand pointed between your eyes. “And have you told anyone about that… ‘eye-opening experience’?”
“No, I haven’t told anyone!” you blurted out. “I swear!”
“Good boy,” Gemma said as she lowered her arm.
“But since then I’ve seen other sets of knickers on other girls,” you explained. “And I guess I just decided that I wanted a pair to keep for myself.”
“You’ve got money,” the Perfect Prefect pointed out. “You could always buy knickers if you want some so badly.”
“That’s boring,” you replied. “It’s much more fun to get them from a cute girl.”
Gemma smirked and shook her head in amusement. “You really are a cheeky little scamp. As long as nobody’s getting hurt, your odd collection is none of my business, so I see no need to stop you. But I should warn you, asking for a girl’s knickers will only be cute for so long. You’re young so most girls will give you a pass. But if you keep it up as you get older, they’ll start to call you a pervert and you’re likely to get hexed.”
The prefect exited and you were left alone with your thoughts… and Daphne’s knickers in your hand.
“Hm…” you said to yourself as you stared at the mint green material, “A collection, eh?”
