Chapter 4 by Hajubr

Just a few more minutes, please?

Accept your fate

Sighing, you reluctantly push yourself out of your seat and retrieve your bags from the car. Harvey has one of your bags, but you insist on carrying the other one yourself. The two of you walk into the complex and pass right through the lobby to the elevators. There isn't really any security or receptionists, though supposedly there's an office somewhere for tenants to go to for any problems.

The walls are all a plain white with the occasional tacky, fort-cent painting hung up. You have a bit of respect for the fact that they bothered to decorate at all, with so many floors, but still. Not exactly a 'homey vibe' here. That is, until you pass the threshold into Harvey's apartment proper.

The walls inside a nice cream color - you're not sure if your cousin got permission to paint them himself of if this was how every apartment here looked. Even still, it's immediately more pleasant than the hallways, and all of the furniture feels familiar even if you haven't seen any of it before. Warm colors and light woods cover the small space, and it reminds you a lot of Harvey's childhood home, the last time you visited it.

"So, you wanna just get straight to unpackin', or go out and get some lunch first?" Harvey asks.

Stay home or go out?
