A very uneven pokebattle ensues

There may have been more uneven pokebattles.

Ash was from the manga - not the cartoon. He wasn't brain damaged. He'd got the pikachu that had been gnawing on the wires in his house and that had started his pokemon journey. Up until that point he hadn't been a poke-otaku.

Not having a particular clue what to do was his major stumbling block. He was capable of learning though.

"Get those pokemon and subdue that boy!" James was tired of hearing half of the conversations. "Meowth - Fury Swipes! Jessie - Steel Punch!"

"Thundershock!" said Pikachu as she sent a bolt of purple lightning?! at the Marionette.

"Mari! Mari Marionette!" (What do you know? Electric attacks make me stronger!) Jessie grinned evilly.

The other pokemon under Ash's group saw this and responded appropriately.

"Jenny JEN JEN!" (I'm having enough of a bad day without having to deal with an uppity Meowth!) Jenny said as she used Comet Punch on Meowth. The vaguely anthropomorphic cat hit a tree hard enough that branches fell off.

"Joy joy jo! Joy joy joy?" (I'm a nurse not a pro wrestler! What the heck do I do?)

"Try 'Agility'," suggested Ash, trying to remember Egg type attacks and wondering why Joy who looked almost exactly as she had previously was considered an Egg type.

Joy started dodging Jessie's swings. One, two, oh almost. Now it was Joy's turn to go flying. Looked like Agility was not one of her attacks.

"Growlithe, body slam!" Ash commanded, trying to remember the Growlithe attacks.

"Growl growl!" (Close enough. It's 'Takedown' though.) The Growlithe charged and slammed Jessie back into the bushes.

"Dryad dryad dryad!" (Hurry up and tell me which attack to use, Ash!)

"Genie gen gen genie!" (Hey! I wanna beat down on these schmucks!)

"Chansey chanse chanse." (In that case I'll just make sure Joy is okay.)

There was a flare of light from where Growlithe was fighting with Jessie, followed by a scream and an anguished howl.

"Oh no, the stones!" James exclaimed as he reached into his pants and started pulling out a gun.

"Dryad! Vine whip!" Ash pulled up the entry on Bloom and figured probably Karen could use the same attacks.

"Dryad!" (With pleasure!) Karen started slapping James with two vine whips that extended from her wrists. "Dryad!" (Hey, this is fun!)
