She was already imprisoned in a maximum security prison when you got to her. You duty was to transport her to court so she could have her hearing. Unfortunately, the journey didn't go as seamless as was planned.
A group of people were attempting to liberate her. They set up a trap on your way and ambushed you. Your ship was able to break away from the convoy, but was chased down. Your pilot tried to shake them off by flying close to a sun. The magnetic interference of a star scrambled their systems and left them mostly disabled.
Unfortunately large parts of your ship had become disabled as well and it was out of control.
Eventually your ship crash landed on a nearby planet. When you regained consciousness, you learned there were only 2 survivors. You and the prisoner.
Until someone shows up, you will be stranded with her.
