A nightmare wakes you

You are alone.

You are surrounded by darkness. It is everywhere. It is suffocating.

You push through a miasma of shadow, trying desperately to find the light. To find your friends.

"Oh, Rosa," a voice coos, coming from all around you. It is the same voice you heard from the forest and it sends shivers down your spine. "You won't be able to find them. You should be looking for me. I know all about you. And I want you all to myself!"

Your eyes pop open as you are abruptly returned to consciousness. Gasping for air, you find yourself once again safely in Dukash's arms. Moonlight shines through the window and just barely illuminates his sleeping face. It seems, despite your rather loud awakening, he was not even stirred. Probably for the best.

You briefly try and fall back to sleep but quickly realize it would be pointless. The nightmare is still fresh in your head, the feeling of being lost, that horrible voice... There is no way you would able to rest. And, if you are up, you might as well start your watch.

It takes you a moment to untangle yourself from Dukash. You try your best to not wake him but in all honesty, you probably do not need to be so careful. He barely reacts to you moving his arms out of the way, softly snoring away as you repositioned him. Once he is out of the way you are able to silently slip out of his grasp and into the night.

The dim moonlight illuminated just enough of the room to find your dress. You slip it over your nude form, glad to be protected from the cold night air. Once you are all laced up, you lean down and give your lover a quick kiss on the cheek before leaving. While he does not react to your show of affection, you'd like to think you made his dreams better.

However, as you exit the room, you are not met with the silence you were expecting.
