A naive ally

Sirius and Jane leave the station just to see how the downtown area has been ravaged by the outbreak. Abandoned cars, some of them crashed and totaled, store's windows and doors broken. They are relieved that there's apparently no demon nearby but they still remain alert.

"Things look worse than what they showed in the news..." says Jane as she checks the surroundings.

"We should hurry, let's look for a car that's still working, but stay close." Says Sirius, the two of them investigate the cars, looking for one with the keys still inside and that's working but they can't find any.

They walk through the streets of the city for a few minutes, looking for a means of transport until they hear the sound of an engine. They go towards the source of the sound and find a truck parked in front of a grocery store, with a policewoman sitting on the driver's seat.

The policewoman notices them and gets out of the truck to approach them, she looks a little older than Jane, probably in her mid-twenties, she has blonde hair tied in a ponytail. Her uniform conceals her figure but she looks to be fit enough for her job.

"Oh great, cops..." Snarks Sirius, every time he has to deal with cops things always end up more complicated and he doesn't expect this case to be any different. At least even though she is carefully approaching to them she doesn't look like she considers them hostile.

"Let me handle this, we might learn something and maybe she can help us." Whispers Jane at him.

"Hey! You two, who are you? What are you doing out here?" Asks the policewoman to the pair.

"I-I'm Jane officer, this is my uncle Sirius, we were just looking for my sister but our car broke down and now we're stuck here." Responds Jane with fake watery eyes, pretending to be a scared, defenseless girl, even her tone of voice and body language were completely different to the ones she uses daily.

Kane tries his best to not roll his eyes, this isn't the first time Jane uses her acting skills to get them out of troubles. He always thinks she tries too hard but somehow, she always manages to fool everyone.

"Oh, you poor thing! You both are very brave trying to help your sister but it's too dangerous to be outside right now. " The gullible policewoman responds.

Jane's act has made the policewoman lower her guard; Sirius considers just using this chance to steal her truck but she's probably not alone so it wouldn't be wise to act rashly.

"I'm officer Diana Vargas." The policewoman offers a handshake to Sirius but he doesn't respond the gesture. "I know you must be worried about your niece but going outside like that was very irresponsible" Diana lectures Kane making one of his eyes twitch.

"Sorry officer, it's just that my...niece, it's very important for me, my brother would kill me if something happened to her." Awkwardly answers Sirius, unlike Jane he doesn't even try to play the part of concerned uncle but Diana doesn't seem to notice his poor performance.

"Listen, my partner and I are doing a supply run, there's a group of people holed up in the cathedral, it seems the demons aren't able to come close so it should be safe. You can come with us and stay there until things calm down a little."
