A mysterious shapeshifter

3 weeks after Angela's ****.

Location: the Batcave

"THIS! IS! FRACKING! AWESOME!"

"You are totally a nerd," chuckled Barbara, "but yes, yes it is." Barbara is typing away at the largest computer terminal I have ever seen. I was geeking out in Batman's private museum

"So what is the story behind the giant penny?"

"It was before my time. Now will you quit gooffing off and get over here. I think I found something." That got my attention.

Barbara and I have been trying to identify the people responsible for killing Angela. The thugs were hired via the dark web. We weren't completely lost though.

It turna our that the weapons given to the thugs did NOT malfunction. They were rigged to explode. The thugs were just a distraction so the real thief could break into the vault.

"Check this out," said Batgirl pressing play on a video of a plant. And, spoiler alert, it wasn't doing anything. Suddenly the cammera shook so much it fell over. From its new position, the cammera now had a perfect shot of the vault door.

Standing infront of the now open vault was the strangest person I had ever seen; and I live in Gotham for Pete's sake.

She retrieves some kind of remote from the vault. Then she shifts before my eyes into someone else and walks away.

Present day

"It turns out the thing she took from the vault was a prototype. Theoretically it would allow someone to travel to complete diferent universes. Explore different realities. Can you imagine?

"Unfortunately there was only one prototype and it didn't even work. The researcher working on it took the break in as a 'sign from God'; so he gave up the experiment. No one has reported anything like her before or since the incident. Furthermore the device, which I have nicknamed a dimensional slider, DS for short, has not appeared on the black market. Therefore she needed it. I suspect our mystery woman me somehow fixed the slider and went to another dimension."

"So how are we going to follow Ms. Blue and get justice?" Rachel asked getting another slice of pizza.

"With this," I declare holding up my own D.S. "I worked for years replicating the technology and I think I finally cracked it. I just need another week or two to..."
