A masquerade ball

"I want... I want you to accompany me to a special event later this week." said Vanessa with a smile. She had just thought of one such event.

"What kind of event? When?" asked Lauren suspiciously.

"A masquerade ball. This Saturday night, I think." She would have to look up all the details later.

"That's too soon. I don't have a dress or a mask. Pick something else."

"No, I - I can get us everything we need." said Vanessa, sounding very confident.

"Really?" Lauren eyed her sister. "How?"

"I know one of the hosts. Mother of a sorority sis. She can get me anything I want in short notice." She really wanted her sister to agree.

"You do realise I won't wear just anything you give me. Nor go to a ball with just anyone." said Lauren, emanating with that usual confident superiority.

"It's gonna be a regular party dress. And nobody will know it's us. Everyone will have masks on. It's... it's going to be great. I have seen some designs that could make up your dress. We could even go in matching masks. I'll think about that. It's gonna be so much fun. As for your measurments," she paused as she grabbed hold of the wonderbra she had on with a grin, "I think I have a pretty good idea." she winked at her sister. "Deal?"

Lauren flushed again. "Fine... Now, delete those pictures. And get that thing off of you!" she slapped her sister's shoulder.

"Okay, okay. Geez." she said while deleting the pictures. "Gone." she held out her phone for Lauren to observe. It wasn't like she couldn't have made new ones whenever she wanted to. She was staying with her sister, after all.

"Just so you know," said Lauren, putting her secret underwear away, "if I don't like the dress or mask, I will simply not participate." She was feeling a bit more confident with her underwear securely tucked away from her sister's prying hands and the pictures deleted.

"I know. I'll have our costumes here by Saturday." said Vanessa. And you're gonna love it, she added in her head.
