A guy his age

Derek was walking back to the office he worked at. He was on his lunch break and had gone to get some coffee at a nearby cafe. Although he had an ample amount of time, he didn’t want to risk being late and ruining the reputation he had built for himself, so he walked rather quickly. He was in a large crowd of people, so he had to maneuver himself around anyone walking opposite to him and those that he deemed as going too slow.

In his rush to be punctual, Derek ended up running into another man and spilling his coffee all over himself. He couldn’t believe his rotten luck.

“You’ve gotta be kinding me,” he said with quiet anger.

“Oh my god,” said the man he ran into, “I am so sorry! Here, let me help you!”

The man proceeded to anxiously try and wipe the spilled beverage off of Derek, much to Derek’s annoyance. He reassured the man that he could clean himself up. The other man continued to insist that he help, and that’s when Derek noticed that this man appeared to be about the same age as him. He also noticed that the guy was wearing a rainbow pin.

“Get away from me you queer!” Derek said, “I don’t need your help faggot!”

The man was immediately taken aback and Derek pushed past him to get back to work, completely knocking the poor guy over. Derek walked even faster and didn’t look back at the gay man he hadpushed to the ground. However, if he had, he would’ve seen the man muttering something under his breath, something that was about to cause Derek quite a bit of trouble.
