A creature stalks

The Rapi's control over it's host was poorly understood. It was simple to understand the need to reproduce. How given a target to infect, the Rapi would hunt down it's target relentlessly. But it did not have complete control. Some of the creatures own thoughts were retained, it has been reported that some victims have been seen escaping quadrupeds, but they being wolves, had hunted in packs. Women would be circled and when running away would be caught by a Rapi behind them. She would be consequently used by all members of the pack and returned to the Hive.

Another such case is considered a rumour, where a human male was infected and returned to his former hideout. He could remember the way to open the lock and sealed the only exit. He and two other males that lived in the shelter proceeded to impregnate the five women that cohabited with them.

It has been argued that intelligent creatures are more advantageous for the Rapi. A Rapi that lurked below a small military lookout would have been called less intelligent because of it's reptilian base, but that prooved advantageous. It's cold blood made it difficult to detect, and the agéd beast was skilled at remaining unseen.

It looked like an alligator, but was larger and with longer limbs. As with all Rapi it's hide was tough as leather and hued purple. This specimen had learned to be patient, in life it basked for days at a time. The tail was long, like that of a snake, sensing tremors in the ground. It's jaw was broad with an underbite. As with many Rapi it's origin was to be certain on.

Over the past few weeks it had cautiously approached the lookout, a building erected over night. It was aware of the troublesome sniper. By now it was at the entrance of the building, it wasn't built on solid ground and had space beneath it where the Rapi had been nesting. It decided now was time to strike
