A Summons to stop a rogue Harem Member.

Looking at his phone, Dick saw a notification.

Alert: You are being summoned to deal with a threat to society! A Harem Member has gone rogue and is wreaking havoc on the populace. You are required to assist in its capture. Comply, and you will be rewarded with points to use in the Harem App. Refuse to comply, and you will be deducted points.

Dick reread the message to make sure he understood it. Dick had seemed a mission board on the Harem App, so he assumed that was where he picked up missions if he felt like it. But it looks like sometimes he'd have to move out for emergencies like this.

"Maka," Dick said uncertainly. "We're being summoned..."

"What do you mean?" she asked, she still had a bit of heat to her voice, and Dick decided to ignore it and keep talking.

"Apparently, a Harem Member went rogue, and we're supposed to stop her." Maka gave him a dark look, and Dick subconsciously scooted away from her.

"What do you mean "went rogue"?" she asked in a dangerous tone. Dick cringed from her tone, though once he replayed his sentence in his head, he could see where the miscommunication came from. As far as Maka knew, this Harem Member going rogue meant that she tried to break free from captivity, and the other Harem Masters wanted to kill her to maintain their status quo. Dick had no idea how much of that assumption was right, but he had an idea of how to cool her rage.

"I-I don't know the specifics, but apparently she's wreaking havoc." He handed Maka the phone to let her read the notification. She snatched it out of his hand and read furiously. After reading it a few times, her glare softened, and she handed the phone back. Dick breathed a sigh of relief. Whether or not she sympathizes with the "Rogue Harem Member," she wasn't going to let them hurt innocent people.

"So, what do we have to do?" she asked eventually.

"Well, it says that I have to accept the mission, or I'll be docked points for refusing," Dick answered, rubbing the back of his head bashfully. "When I do, I'm guessing it'll give me more information after that."

"Then accept it, and let's go stop that girl before she hurts anyone else." Maka gave him a look of grim determination. She was still unhappy with her situation, but she was still the heroine of Soul Eater on the inside. Dick nodded at her and accepted the summons. As he thought, once Dick acknowledged the assignment, he got a very detailed file on the issue at hand. There was a Harem Master who mistreated his fox girl very severely, treating her more like an animal than a person with animal features. The treatment eventually got so bad that the fox girl went feral and broke free from her Master's control, and now she was on a rampage.

"Master's Control..." Maka muttered under her breath. Dick heard her, and on a whim, decided to check up some information on Harem Members with Maka watching. It turns out Harem Masters could inadvertently control minds, and while they treated their Harem Members nicely and with respect, they'll be predisposed to like them and following their commands. If the Harem Members get mistreated, then the effects of the Harem Master's control on them will eventually wain until it's broken completely. At that point, the Harem Member will become hostile and try to escape from their Harem Master, to which it'll be the Master's job to either allow the Harem Member to escape or attempt to re-establish control over them. The only reason Dick and Maka had to deal with that Fox Girl was that her Master must have been unable to for whatever reason, and she was attacking anything that moved at the moment.

Maka laid back in bed with a scowl on her face. Dick could only imagine what she was thinking. Her mind was getting **** into letting everything happen to her and being loyal to Dick. According to what they read, she could somehow get released from it, but that would mean inviting Dick to **** her. But as long as he treated her like a human being, she'd be influenced to obey him. It didn't seem like either situation was very favorable, not mention there was the issue of what she would do if she managed to get free of Dick's supposed control. Even though she doesn't want to admit it, Maka's world was fictional, and if she became her own woman instead of Dick's stand-in for his anime waifu, that's a truth she'd have to deal with before she could do anything else.
