A Risky Solution

Sue sat naked in that alleyway for almost 10 minutes too focused on that detail to put a lot of thought into a solution when all of a sudden she remembered back to the moment when she got these powers. Back on the space station during that freak accident Sue almost completely disappeared, however that wasn't the only power she got as she also gained the ability to create small force fields which saved her life that day. It occurred to Sue that it might also help her out of her current situation.

It was a risky decision, Sue hadn't fully gained control over her force fields. Though looking at her state of dress she decided that she had nothing to lose.

Slowly standing up, Sue looked at the ladder hanging above her just out of reach. Reluctantly she raised her hands a tried to forcibly bring it down to her but to no affect, she simply didn't know enough about her powers to use them like that.

It was here that Sue noticed that she was sweating and felt very tired despite having sat still for almost 10 minutes. Worried for her physical state, Sue theorised that using both of her powers at once was overexerting her body and causing her new problems. Considering her options, Sue realised that the only way she could successfully use her force fields to bring down the ladder was to turn herself visible again and risk exposing herself to the world.

Sue decided to just get it over and done with as quickly as possible and so, with extreme reluctance, she relaxed herself and turned off her invisibility, showing her body off to the world. Raising both hands to focus on the fire escape she managed to conjure up a small field that knocked the ladder down and gave her a clear path back into the building.

Sue had to restrain herself from screaming in joy. Her humiliation was almost over. However, at that moment, she heard a small clanging sound behind her and she fell her joy die. She slowly turned around to see how her problem could get worse.
