A New Challenge

Evan and Glarka redoubled their efforts to find something, after what felt like days (but likely just an hour or two) Glarka found a pair of hidden levers near the door that were only really visible at points on either side of the door that lined up with the statue's legs. She brought Evan over to one, after confirming the locations of both, then walked over to the other. Evan counted down from 6, on 1 they both pulled the levers at the same time. They could hear the sound of something opening. They both looked over at the door but turned their attention to the door, it wasn't opening, they then turned around and saw some sort of multicolored slime drop from between the legs of the idol and land on the ground with a loud **splortch**.

Thankfully, Glarka had her halberd on hand and charged at it with a raging battle cry, the air around her was shimmering like her body was producing a great amount of heat. In almost no time at all, Glarka was before the ball of ooze and swung down hard into it with her weapon, this caused pieces to splash onto her attire. Her top and bottom started to hiss from the bubbling heat the pieces of the monster were subjected to Glarka's outfit, but the hissing was also a warning that she ignored as the heat also accelerated the process of the pieces eating through her clothes. In just under 5 seconds, the orc woman was completely naked as she continued to wail on the monster in question. Her attacks seemed to be doing minimal damage.

Evan was unsure of what to do, he stretched out his hand and said, "I wish I knew how to help," as a beam of sea-green energy with a bluish tint to it shot forth from his hand and crashed into the monster, the slime seemed to recognize Evan as the greater threat, even though Glarka was the more immediate threat. Evan looked at his hand with surprise before saying a bunch of random words, the beam seemed to fire off every 4 to 7 seconds regardless of what he said. When the ball of slime got too close he would disappear in a mist of seaspray only to reappear 30 feet away in a random direction, he wasn't directing things and just acting on instinct. At one point he even summoned a whirl of umbra tentacles for ten 10 feet all around him that snagged the ball as it drew near.

Glarka, still unaware of her dissolved attire, chased the ball around bashing it with her weapon the entire time, after it got caught in the tentacles she bashed it hard with killing a blow that was her thrusting the spearhead t the top of her weapon into it then swing the ax's head out so hard and fast it nearly bisected the ball and flopped open as two halves of a sphere that looked like they were connected by a hinge made of some kind of gel.
