A Locked Box

The small backpack clearly wasn't designed to ferry classwork back and forth. It seems more like a day backpack, designed for a girl suffering from a lack of pockets and a disposition against purses. Which is why you only find one thing in the entire backpack.

Which isn't to say it wasn't heavy, because it was. In fact, when you first try to lift it, you are astonished that a tiny girl could even lift the damn thing.

The reason why is that inside, there is one large leather box with a steel padlock stopping anyone or anything from opening it. You fiddle with it for a moment, but it's clearly locked up tight. You aren't going to catch up to the girl with half a gym set on your back, so you decide to reluctantly drag the rock of a backpack home.

Once there you lug it on to your tool desk and take a look. You can try to **** the lock, but then there is no possible way of returning it to her. Or you can weight patiently and use the backpack as an opportunity to start a conversation with her. Afterall, you've been crushing pretty hard on her, and maybe this box is something she really wants back.
