A Local Mall

With the immediate danger gone, for now, Carla eased the gas down and turned back to look at Alex. He looked exhausted and Carla knew it had been ages since the both of them had eaten or quenched their thirst. Without consulting Alex she made a spur of the moment decision, easing her foot back onto the gas and speeding out of the tunnel.

Once back into daylight Carla came to a crossroad and instinctively clicked on the indicator before turning to the right and heading toward the towns local mall. Carla’s eyes darted to the rearview mirror as she watched a relieved smile cross her partner's lips. Wanting to inform him of the plan she parted her lips to speak in a reassuring tone; “I thought a trip to the mall would be a good idea, maybe to gather supplies and wait until this blows over.”

Alex found himself nodding in agreement as he thought about the range of possibilities a trip to the mall would bring him. Carla pushed the SUV on and after a few miles they came into sight of the destination, hordes of people seemed to be scrambling towards the building but Carla was relieved not to be a single demon in sight.

Neither of them spoke as they clambered out from the car and joined a stream of people heading into the vast sprawling mall before them As Alex stepped forward he sniffed the air and grinned as he smelt the musk of a newly turned Succubus nearly. Turning his head to the right he noticed a buxom blonde and dropped her a knowing grin as she eyed him up and returned his gaze.

Carla was unaware of her partner’s actions as she looked over the swarming crowd before turning back to Alex. Knowing both supplies and time was of the essence Carla’s lips parted as she lay out her suggestion; “So Alex, I know we only just got reunited but I think it may be wise to split up so we can cover a wider area and gather more supplies."

With her plan put forward, Carla stopped. Her eyes darted across Alex before she continued; "So Alex, it's your call shall we split up or stay together?"
