Typically for Joanne, even on an occasion where she was planning to let a guy who wanted to date her down gently, she had dressed herself to look as hot as possible. When Danny called Joanne was ready for him.

"Wow, you look really amazing, Jo!" he gushed as soon as she opened the door.

"Thanks" She smiled with as much enthusiasm as she could muster. She definitely preferred dorky friend Danny to romantic Danny. She was sure the expensive clothing he had bought was new and he was trying to impress her. Were it not for the ring Danny would have had no chance with Joanne. He wasn't her type at all and taking this long to invite her out on a date seemed pretty pathetic to her. She hoped nobody mistook her for his girlfriend tonight and secretly hoped to be done with this "date" within an hour or two so she could make something out of the evening.

But that would all depend on how quickly Danny sussed out that the girl of his dreams would currently do anything he told her to.
