2 pairs & an Ace.

Denise smiled as she looked at her hand: A pair of 4s & a pair of 7s, with the Ace of Spades. It might not be enough for the winning hand, but it was sure enough to prevent her from having the losing hand. And having the winning hand wouldn't be important until the end of the game.

Denise discarded the Ace, & got a Jack in its place. Her earlier prediction was on the money, however. Tony ended up with the winning hand (a Jack-high flush), while Halle had the low hand (a pair of 6s). When Halle began removing her bracelet, Denise gently corrected her. "Sorry, Halle. Jewelry & other accessories don't count. Shoes & socks only count as 1 item."

Halle lifted an eyebrow in surprise, but gave the group a winsome smile before removing her sandals. Since he had the high hand, Tony won the deal. Denise looked at the cards he had dealt her: A pair of 7s, with some other trash cards. With a grimace, Denise discarded everything but the 7s.
