This will be similar in form to my Negima story: transcript, relying mainly on dialogue to tell the story

The hoe struck the dirt hard, loosening it slightly. On the other end, a teenage boy pauses and wipes the sweat from his brow. He smiles a little, pleased with himself. He doesn't pause long before he brings the hoe back up. Suddenly, something grabs his neck from behind.

?: TENCHIIII!!!

Tenchi: GAH!! Ryoko!! Will you stop that!? I have a lot of work to do if i'm gonna get these carrots planted!

Ryoko: Forget the carrots, Tenchiii. Hey, i know! Why don't you ditch this and plant some seeds in me instead? C'mon, Tenchi, you know that'd be much more fun than this.

Tenchi: Please leave me alone. If i don't get this done, grandpa is gonna make me do twice as much tomorrow. And then you won't get to see me at all, so let me finish, alright!?

Ryoko: Wh..Y-you're so cruel, Tenchi!

Tenchi: Stop the crocodile tears. No one's buying it.

Ryoko: Hmph! Fine! I WAS gonna offer to help, but forget it.

Tenchi: Huh? You were gonna offer to what?

Ryoko: That's right, Tenchi. I was gonna help plant these things.

Tenchi: You....help? Ryoko, are you feeling ok?

Ryoko volunteering to help with work of any sort? This was a first! She had to be some sort of evil replica, Tenchi thought. He touched her forehead, checking for either a fever or the coldness that would give away a robot.

Tenchi: You have a fever!

Ryoko, sheepishly: That's because you're touching me, Tenchi.

Tenchi: You're Ryoko, alright. Anyway, why are YOU gonna do work now?

Ryoko: To spend time with you, Tenchi. Why, don't you want me to?

Tenchi: Uh...sure, but i only have one hoe.

Ryoko: Hee-hee! No problem!

Ryoko made her hand intangible and loosened some soil manually. Tenchi had to admit, it was a lot better than the apocalyptic method he thought she'd use.

Tenchi: Wow. That's pretty good, Ryoko! I thought you were gonna blow up the field or something again! Alright then, you can help me!

Ryoko: REALLY?!

Tenchi: Sure!

Ryoko: Tenchi? Can i help you with something else too?

Tenchi, cautiously: W-w-what is it?

Ryoko: You don't have a valentine this year, do you? Can it be me?

Tenchi: Eh!? thinking Oh, great, she found out about Valentine's day. I've been afraid of this. I just hope none of the others know about it too.

Many voices: TEN-CHIIIII!!!

Tenchi turned to find the rest of the girls behind him with hearts for eyes and some with heart-shaped boxes.

The girls: BE MY VALENTINE, TENCHIIII!!!

Tenchi: sigh I should've known...
