Shepard hit play as a recording began to play. The voice was morphed and distorted so it was completely unrecognizable. “You know what will happen if you don’t do as I say. I will make sure everyone knows everything there is to know about the great Commander Shepard. All her secrets. All it would take is one click.”

“I’d do anything to help Shepard,” Liara said. “What would you have me do?”

“You know what I want. I want her to feel the full weight of humiliation. I want her to know what it feels like to have everything taken away from her. And by the way… I better not hear any rumors of you trying to help her or tip her off. I’d be very upset if you spoiled the surprise.”

Shepard’s eyes widened. “She was trying to protect… me???”

“Unbelievable,” Tali said. “But who… who is that?”

“EDI, clear this video right now,” Shepard said. “I want to know who this is!”

“Yes, Commander,” EDI said.

Shepard waited as EDI worked to clear the video. After a few minutes the video became much clearer as the person in the video was displayed on the main monitor.
