Chapter 8 by SkyDreamer SkyDreamer

So what's Hettie's next plan of action?

[P] Try to contact her superiors

Hettie's lips were scrunched into a hard line as she descended the stairs back away from the exit. This was not an entirely unprecedented situation. She was forbidden from sinning, but she was trapped by sinners in a situation where her only option was to sin. The knights' code did contain protocol that accounted for this kind of situation, allowing for necessary sin as long as the knight then undertook suitable penance once they were freed from their situation.

Still, she should first take every conceivable approach to avoid sinning if it was at all possible. She still didn't have enough information about her situation. She had wanted to wait before contacting her commander until she could tell him where she actually was, but evidently, that was not going to be as easy to determine as she had first thought. Hyrule Field, Lost Woods... those names meant nothing to her, but maybe someone on the outside could use them to triangulate her approximate location.

She stepped back out onto the casino floor and was once again hit by a cacophony of noise. It was too loud for her to concentrate on composing a message here, but she didn't want to hang around in a cramped stairwell either. She decided to lift off again and retrace her path back to the balcony she had emerged from. The backroom she had awoken in should be quiet enough to suit her needs.

Finding the balcony again was easy enough. All she had to do was remember the pillar she had passed between and follow the walls. But once she alighted on the balcony, she found that that was as far she could go.

There was a sign by the corridor leading to the backroom. It said "Employees Only. Anyone found across this threshold will be considered Gamehouse property." She hadn't noticed it on her way out, but now that she had seen it, she was extremely thankful that everyone around her had been asleep when she awoke. If what that kobold had said was indeed the truth, she would not have been able to oppose anyone if they had caught her back there.

She groaned in frustration. How had these wicked sinners managed to even corrupt the concept of obeying rules? She usually loved obeying rules! But in this establishment, it seemed, the rules truly were a fact rather than a choice.

She settled for leaning against the wall in the corner of the balcony. It was quiet enough up here that she could at least hear herself think, so this should do. She drew her sword and held it vertically in front of her face, focusing on the embedded gem as she prepared to cast Sending to Commander Raelof.

"Awoke in giant casino, memory compromised. Magic makes **** impossible within. Cannot leave without gambling. Located somewhere called Lost Woods and Hyrule Field. Please advise."

[P] I return to the backroom to cast Sending to my knight commander.

[GM] When you return to the balcony, you see a sign on the corridor saying "Employees Only. Anyone found across this threshold will be considered Gamehouse property."

[P] Ok, I guess I'll just cast Sending from up here on the balcony. The word limit is 25 words, so I'll say "Awoke in giant casino, memory compromised. Magic makes **** impossible within. Cannot leave without gambling. Located somewhere called Lost Woods and Hyrule Field. Please advise." He'll know it's from me, so I don't need to include that.

[P] I'll then await a response before taking further action.

Will her commander respond?
