Eagle Crest Academy

Eagle Crest Academy – Eagle Crest was established in 1907. The land was purchased from one of Iron Falls’ long-standing families, the Wagner’s. It was then purchased by the original founder of the academy, Thomas Mackenzie. He built and operated the original academy at this time. It was founded as an all-boys boarding school to operate as a military training academy in the early 1900’s. After time it developed a more balanced and prestigious reputation for its academic programs and the elite students in attendance. I the early 90’s it was seen as a prep school for the top universities across the country. Not long after it expanded its scholarship opportunities after many failed attempts in the past to keep its exclusive reputation. In recent years, it has faced competition from many newer academies that have kept up with the times better than Eagle Crest who prefers to uphold tradition. At the brink of closure, they struck a deal to combine the school with the nearby Sacred Sisters' and after several years of dispute, are finally on track for their first year as a joint Academy. It is yet to be proven if this is enough for the Academy to survive the times and also keep the tiny town of Iron Falls from falling off the map.

Sacred Sisters’ School for Girls – The now closed boarding school that has long been known for it’s high academical standards and producing top college candidates across the nation. The school closed its doors at the end of the previous year and has now been relocated to join campuses with Eagle Crest Academy.

Burton Hall – Burton Hall is the long standing dormitory that the male students are placed in. It’s known for its creaky floors, poor air circulation and legendary tales. It’s made up of 6 floors. It also has a basement and rooftop access that is locked off to all students.

Dr. Thompson Lodge – The lodge is the brand new multi-million dollar structure that was built to accommodate the arriving female students at Eagle Crest. The lodge is named after the famed Dr. Leslie Thompson who is an alumni of Sacred Sisters'. and a prominent figure in the Iron Falls area. It is a top of the line building with no expenses spared to make the girls feel both comforted and safe for their time at the academy.

The Brown - “The Brown” is the campus nickname of the staff housing building on campus. The older brown brick building isn’t a lot to look at and it isn’t much more exciting on the inside. It houses several of the resident staff members as well as having a lounge and temporary housing quarters for the teachers. The majority of teachers and administrators live off campus but do make temporary plans at “The Brown”. The unsightly building is also conveniently located in between the male and female dorms.

The Nest – The nest is the on campus cafeteria that serves many different options to the student of Eagle Crest. In theme with the rest of the campus, little expense is spared and the food is actually not bad even if the students do still complain about it. This is also a casual hangout place where the two genders are allowed to mingle without too many judging eyes.

The Canyon – The Canyon is the top-of-the-line gym at Eagle Crest. With their athletic programs almost as renowned as their academics, Eagle crest has a massive gymnasium with a large weight and cardio section, as well as a basketball court, indoor tennis court, Olympic pool, and soccer field. It’s probably nicer than any other part of the campus.

Hopkins Building – The Hopkins building houses the majority of the standard classes at Eagle Crest. It was the original building that started the whole campus. They’ve made additions over the years but it’s largely stayed the same and shows the age of the Academy. The hallways are lined with pictures and glass cases showcases memorabilia from students past. Any mature student would only dream on adding something of their own for future classes.

Meyer’s Institute – This building was added back in the 80’s and includes some of the more advanced classes and areas of study. It features several science labs and the more recently added computer lab. The library is massive even for a private school of this caliber and it’s the building where many of the academic focused students spend a significant amount of time. It’s fairly common to have past alumni come back and give presentations and seminars in this wing as well.

Wright Amphitheater – The Wright Amphitheater is built around a small pond and is used to showcase many of the performing arts taught at Eagle crest as well as a casual outdoor hangout area when classes are out. The students like to mingle here and unwind on the giant concrete steps and nearby courtyard.

Lock lips Lake – A small private pond for the lucky few who know how to find the nearly overgrown footpath that leads to it. The lake was previously seen as a halfway point between Iron Crest and Sacred Sisters'. It may be a bit out of the way with all of the students at the same campus but it still has a nostalgia about it for many of the teens.

Iron Falls

Iron Falls – Iron Falls is a very small town mostly tucked in the woodlands of the east coast. It was a blink and miss it kind of place until the original purchase and build of Eagle Crest Academy. The town has grown slightly since then due to the economic boost of keeping the Academy supported. To any outsider today, the town still seems about 30 years behind anywhere else. It has many small and locally owned shops and restaurants. It even features one of the few Drive-In movie Theatres in the state. It’s a hilly and forest covered area that features many small ponds and lakes. Its name comes from its beautiful waterfalls that are spread throughout the wooded areas and have both historical and legendary tales that the locals love to keep telling through the generations or to anyone willing to listen. For those who grow bored of the stuck in its way town, they can travel about an hour east to the busy city that has much more to offer. Only an hour further than that is the ocean with several small beachfront tourist towns to explore.

Brewsters - Brewster's is a local restaraunt / sports bar in Iron Fall. It may not look like much but it's one of the few options available in the small town. Several teens work there including Mason, Charlie, and Jimmy. The pay isn't great and the management is worse but they have to make due with what they have.
