Chapter 6 by Razor7826 Razor7826

How does Cassie respond?

"The Internet"

"The INTERNET" flashes through Cassie's mind.

"What is that?" the bracelet asked.

"It's something that lets you communicate with people far, far away, and find information."

"Interesting. Where is this 'Internet'?"

"I have a connection at home."

"Well, let us return there."

They drove back to Cassie's home stopping at every stop sign and traffic light and obeying the speed limit. "This is going to be huge," she spoke out loud within the confines of the car. "I've been around hundreds of years, and I don't think there's every been a woman as powerful as a mayor for me to possess."

The real Cassie remained quiet, muted by how horrifying she found the night's events. But if what the bracelet said was true, perhaps she would be free soon.

They returned to Cassie's home and shouted "I'm home!" before scurrying upstairs. Cassie's mother shouted something back, but they did not pay attention. Finding out where the mayor lived was all that mattered.

"So, how do I work this thing?"

Cassie gave the bracelet a brief explanation, knowing that the bracelet moving on to a new host was her only chance of ever getting free. The bracelet's mouse and search-and-peck typing skills were appalling, but she got the hang of it soon enough. At one point during their search, a porn pop-up appeared.

"What is this?" she asked.

"It's an advertisement for a porn site."

"You can use this Internet for porn?"

"Yeah, there's probably a million porn sites out, and perverts willing to meet."

The bracelet flashed a massive grin across Cassie's face briefly before continuing with her search. Within a thirty minutes they had the mayor's address, along with a variety of other personal information. Lisa Penny Godwin, Thirty-eight years old, brown hair, thick-rimmed glasses, a great figure, and surprisingly no husband. Her house was all the way across town. They left Cassie's home without saying goodbye.

They arrived at the mayor's house only to find all of the interior light's off. "They must be asleep," she said aloud. "That may make this a little bit more difficult."

Does Cassie try to say anything to interrupt or discourage the ring's plan?
