Chapter 7
by Razor7826
Does Cassie try to say anything to interrupt or discourage the ring's plan?
Do nothing
Intent on letting the bracelet move on to a new host, Cassie let the spirit do exactly as she intended. "Just go up and ring the doorbell," she prodded. "If she's home, her or her husband will answer."
They walked up to the three-story suburban home and stepped up on to the front porch. The door was painted red and the rest of the house white, immaculously painted and cared for as would be expected from a succesful politician. Cassie rang the doorbell, waited fifteen seconds, then began to pound on the front door.
A light came on upstairs. Thirty-seconds later, Cassie could see the mayor walking down the stairs in a nightgown.
"Who is there?" asked the mayor in a loud voice that Cassie could hear clearly even through the front door and side windows.
"Please, you have to help me!" she yelled, leaning on the door frame and doing her best to sound completely exasperetad. "Somebody is after me!"
Cassie could hear the deadbolt unlock. The moment that Veronica opened the door, her body weight pushed it open and she stumbled on to the foyer floor.
Lisa Godwin took a step back as Cassie stepeed in to the house. "What are you..."
"Help me! He's coming! Close the door!"
Mayor Godwin, now looking genuinely scared herself, closed the door behind Cassie. "Who is after you?" she said, kneeling beside the collapsed girl.
Cassie moved to take the bracelet off of her wrist. It slid right off, but she held it firmly in her hand, keeping its power intact over her."Please, you have to take this bracelet.
"Just hold on a minute!" said the mayor, yet she carelessly let Cassie hold her wrist and slip the cursed bracelet around it.
As the bracelet slipped out of her possession and on to the mayor's finger, Cassie felt a wave of relief as she once again gained control of her body. The moment proved to be short lived as the bracelet's new host attacked its former. Lisa flung her body against Cassie's, knocking her to the floor painfully. The mayor straddled Cassie and slipped her hands around Cassie's neck.
"I should kill you right now, you little slut."
Cassie tried with all her power to fight back, but the mayor was larger and the spirit of the bracelet had longer to learn how to fight than Cassie could ever imagine. Everything went dark.
She didn't die. It was merely a **** out, but Cassie was too young to know the difference. She awoke tied to a kitchen chair with a phone cord.
"Wake up, you dumb cunt. The police will be here any minute to take you away for trying to kill the the town's mayor. I guess this is where you and I part ways."
