"Pretend like nothing"

I reply.

Millie looks at me, a bit surprised, then repeats what I just said.

"Pretend like nothing?"

"Yes, you getting upset at her did not work, so just pretend like nothing."

Millie thinks about it for a while, then says:

"Ok, so we just all have dinner together and pretend like nothing has happened?"

"Exactly." I reply.

"Okay, let's give that a try." Millie says and walks into the kitchen.
