"Kill no one"

"Not yet," Alice decides. Perhaps the time wasn't right, or perhaps she lacked the funds. For whatever reason, she decided to hold off on executing a hit right now. The assassin gives her shrug, respecting her decision. "But rest assured that your services will be needed. I didn't bring you here just to fuck."

"Well, I certainly won't mind if that's the only job I'm needed for," Kuro jokes. "But hey, it's your throne and your coin. Just tell me whenever someone needs to be offed, and I'll get it done... provided that I've been well compensated for the job. Money is the ends and the means of life, after all."

"And if someone asked you to kill me?" Alice asks with a smile, turning to face the assassin, who pauses to think. "How much am I worth? 1000? 2000? More?"

"Well, from a difficulty perspective, you'd actually be pretty easy, considering how quickly I managed to get in there," Kuro answers, but receives a glare in response for that answer. "Okay, fine... For a princess? I'd say about the same as your brothers. Maybe more...?"

"So you'd do it then? Truly no honor among hired blades," Alice sighs dramatically. "I even gave you my first time too... By custom, that means you should be asking my hand in marriage?"

"And then what? Be king? No thank you," Kuro replies as he crawls out of the bed. With that, he begins to make preparations to leave. They messed around for quite a while, and dusk wasn't as far away as it seemed, so it was time for him to go while it was still dark. But after getting dressed and climbing atop the windowsill, he turns back towards her. "For the record, I wouldn't accept a hit on you. I'm committed to seeing where you go, be it the throne room or a jail cells."

And with that, he was gone, leaving behind a smiling Alice who rests her head back against her pillow, closing her eyes and getting some sleep.
