"Do you want to come in?"

Charlotte pressed herself against the door, looking up at Remi from under her long, dark eyelashes. "Thank you so much for helping me home," she said with a little smile. "I really owe you one."

Remi was looking all around the hallway-- at everything but Charlotte. "It's really no problem," she said. "I'm just doing my job."

Charlotte looked the maid up and down, admiring her sheer stockings, the black dress, the lacy white skirt. She had never seen a real maid dressed like this before, but she was starting to understand why the look had gained so much popularity.

"So, anyway, I'll be getting going," Remi said, beginning to turn to leave. There was a look on her face that Charlotte just couldn't place, but she wasn't about to give up now.

Charlotte reached out and grabbed Remi by the wrist, causing the maid to jolt in surprise. "Wait a second," she said. She was mostly sober now... mostly.

"Yes?" Remi said, looking at Charlotte for the first time.

"Do you want to come inside for a second?" Charlotte said. She was smiling, nice and wide.

"For, uh," Remi stammered. "For coffee?"

"Maybe," Charlotte said. "It'll be very... hot."
