The Wedding

A weekend of fun

Chapter 1 by bigguy9 bigguy9

Dread it, run from it, but all your friends from high school and college getting married before you is probably gonna happen all the same. You’ve been to three in the past year and now, in the middle of a brutally hot August, you’re set to go to another. This one might actually be fun, you think, it is two of your best friends from high school getting hitched.

The worst part of it all, is that you have to be part of the wedding party. You love Jim and Allie. Them getting together sophomore year and staying together and throughout college has been the Golden example you look up to when dealing with all the shit relationships you’ve put yourself through. But you hate that you’re going to have to stand in front of everyone, like everyone from back home. Your family, friends’ families, former friends, an ex-girlfriend or two, and even some old teachers are going to be there.

What makes it worse is that the girl you have brought to those last three weddings, Jenn, just split up with you. It was mutual, you felt the relationship slowly coming to an end, but it was embarrassing because you had pledged to all of your buddies that she was the one. She felt bad for initiating the inevitable break up just before the wedding the two of you were to attend together, so she offered to still come as your plus-one. To save some face, and to avoid every question about the break-up, you agreed as long as you both kept the image of a couple still together.

It was the Thursday before the wedding, and the engaged couple had invited everyone to come hang out at Jim’s grandfather’s house in Southold, a small wealthy town way out east on Long Island. Because you and Jenn still lived together in Manhattan, you took off early knowing it would take a couple hours to get there.

While driving, you start telling Jenn everything you can about who you know is gonna be there.

She asks you “So are we gonna like play the whole couple thing the whole time or are we single people once the serious parting starts?”

“Huh, I didn’t think of that,” you ponder, “I would be ok with you, you know...”

“Trying to get laid?” She finished your sentence with a laugh.

“Yeah as long as you’re cool with me doing it too” you laugh back.

“Cool, so challenge accepted,” she said, clearly now losing herself in planning how to reel some guy in.

“Wow,” you laugh, “a challenge! You know you’re at a serious disadvantage right? I’ve known most of these people for years.” You started getting a bit turned on thinking about the few prospects you had in mind.

She shot back, “but I’m just a one-night fling. Someone who is a mystery to those I’ve never met, and someone who up until recently was off-limits, forbidden.”

“Hey woah woah,” you try to hide your concern, “no close friends of mine, that’s still kinda too soon.”

“Ok, sweetie,” she purrs, “I’ll try to stay out of trouble.” She was now fully in sex mode, and with only one option next to her, you could tell she wanted you bad.

How do you deal with this?
