The Truth of Groopie-dom

We’ve all heard stories about affairs between rockstars and their groupies; be it some big shot meeting a fan at a concert twenty years ago and living happily ever after, two mid-twenty-somethings having a months-long torrid affair, leaving the pour groupie at the receiving end shaken for years, or something far less savory.

Maybe there was , maybe there was , sexual or otherwise, maybe there was something darker than most would imagine; not that any of the rest of us would know. Money, threats, and need for public approval have kept more silent than you would think. A little infidelity is one thing, most powerful people could survive that, but something like bribing an innocent, barely legal groupie for sex? That’s a career-ender if there ever was one.

The deafening silence on most of these stories, even those that seem like successes, has raised question after question in the collective mind of the curious public. How did they meet? What really went on backstage? How many people behind the scenes know and just keep their mouths shut? Was it really as straightforward, if sexual and power-play filled, as it seemed?

I am one of few who can tell one of these stories, entirely un-affected by lies or bias. I’m one of few who’s lived this first-hand, experienced the side of stardom that many can only dream of or hope to get a peak into. This is my story.
