The Apartment Complex

Melanie Experiences a lot of changes

Chapter 1 by lezcindy lezcindy

I can't believe I finally found an apartment. I've been living at home longer than I would like to admit, and I was getting tired of it. Mom constantly on my ass to move out. Asking where I'm going, and where I've been. It's been like this since I graduated college. I had finally saved up enough money to move out and then my apartment search began.

The first few places were either WAY outside me price range or were in scary parts of town. I work as a secretary in a law office, and I have to dress professional, so I couldn't very well live in a part of town where someone see "nice clothes" and immediately thinks "let's rob her." The only problem was the places in the safest parts of town were extremely pricey. They needed first and last months rent and a security deposit. I have most of the money, but that would have made it hard to eat, so I was starting to think I was going to have to tough it out until I had saved more.

That was until I came across an ad for the complex I was moving into now. It was smaller, just two or three buildings, but it had a pool in the center, and I could get a two bedroom apartment that wouldn't break the bank. It was close to work, and seemed like it was in a good part out town. Plus there was a gate all the way around the complex, in order to get in you needed a pass-code.

I called the owner, and she said she would meet me at the office today to give me a tour and to collect my security deposit and first months rent.

Arriving at the office
