Deep down somehow I knew this day was coming and now my very life was in danger. I read it over again. Of course as a beautiful young white girl I got lots of attention, including from negroes. Yes I turned them down, and secretly part of the reason is because they're black. Whether or not they knew it, it seems I'm destined to be punished for it.
