Spying on Parents

I had mixed up my flight information so I arrived home from college a day earlier than what my parents thought. I decided to just take a taxi from the airport and surprise them. It turned out that I was the one who would be the one surprised! First some background, my parents are great. I grew up with all that a kid could want- nice house, car, college paid for.

Since I'm an only kid, going away from college was even more stressful than normal but I was a senior now. Both my parents were born in India and emigrated here together in the 1970's. About the only thing that I could fault them for was that they were so damn conservative! I had never once seen my Dad kiss my Mom in my life and dating was out of the question while I lived with them. Anyway, back to my story.

I told the cab driver to leave me a block away so I could maintain the surprise but was surprised to see so many cars backed up in the driveway. My parents rarely had parties. The license plates were even more odd- they were from all kinds of states from Virginia to Florida. For that many cars to be there, the house looked awfully quiet. In fact I didn't see any lights on in the main floor which was kind of spooky. I had the key though.
