School Miss-take

Johnnie Cosentino was always a trouble maker. Being small and somewhat effeminate, he strived to make others take notice of him by constantly breaking rules. Because of this, he had been held back several times. At almost 19, he was easily the oldest kid at school.

He started growing his hair long and wearing eyeliner, trying to look like a rocker, a bad boy. Unfortunately it only contributed to his feminine appearance.

Guys started avoiding him, thinking he was either gay male or just a strange girl.

Johnnie had all summer to plan his latest caper. He decided he was going to break into the all girls school on the other side of town, steal something that could easily be identified as belonging to that school and place it in his own school.

If he pulled this off he would go down in history!

Traditionally, the Susan B. Anthony School for Girls opened 2 weeks after Johnnie’s school opened. This gave him enough time to break in, do what he needed and no one would be wiser.

Unknown to Johnnie, over the course of the summer, the school he was planning on breaking into had been converted to a reform school for troubled girls. It was also the first school in the country to be fully automated. No staff or teachers. The girls would be under complete control of the computer running the school. The opening day had also been changed. It had been moved up, to correspond with the rest of the district.

Johnnie woke up early on the morning of his great caper. Showered and dressed in skinny jeans and a T shirt, he put his usual eyeliner on, put his hair in a ponytail and headed out the door. He timed it so that he could spend around 2 hours in the girls school, do her he needed and make it to his school in time.

Arriving at his destination, he cautiously approached a rear door of the school, unseen from the main road. Surprisingly he found the door unlocked. Thinking he caught a lucky break, he slowly crept into the building.

Sensing movement, the computer kicked into operation. A quick scan showed only one student in the building. Reading the information from the RFI chip in the student’s ID the computer search it’s database for information.

Finding records for Johnnie Cosentino, the computer scanned them and noted that an error had been entered into the records. All criteria for enrollment had been met, however the student’s sex had been entered incorrectly. The computer immediately updated the girl’s records to indicate female.

About 20 minutes into Johnnie’s caper he heard voices in the hallway. He decided that he better get out of there before he got caught.

Creeping towards the closest exit, Johnnie grabbed the handle, only to be shocked. Suddenly a computerized voice says, “Students are not permitted to leave the building once they are checked in.”

Johnnie looked around but didn’t see anyone. Again he grabbed the handle and again he was shocked, only stronger this time.

“Students are not permitted to leave the building once they are checked in,” the computer said again.

Johnnie figured that the voice was probably an automated response for anyone trying to open the door. Once more he grabbed the door handle and immediately dropped to his knees from the shock he received.

“Students are not permitted to leave the building once they are checked in.”

“I’m not a student you stupid machine,” he said, mostly to himself.

“You are Johnnie Cosentino, a student at this school.”

Getting mad, Johnnie yelled, “No, I’m Ralph Ackerman, baker to the stars!”

Suddenly an arm shot out of the wall and shocked him.

“Lying will not be tolerated! You are Johnnie Cosentino, a student at this school.”

A rapid series of beeps could be heard before the system continued.

“You are a student at this school and will adhere to the rules and regulations or you will be punished. You have already attempted to leave the facility twice, there by earning detention. You’ve lied about your name, detention.”

A laser beam quickly scans him.

“You are also in violation of the dress code. All students are required to wear the official uniform. In order to cause minimal disruption, you will be assisted to the office, where you will be properly attired.”
